Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 2898 comments I feel like I heard about this on one of the S&L author interviews, or maybe quick burns, or maybe.... argh! I'm hoping one of our S&L historians will remember.

There is an author, maybe Peter F. Hamilton (?) who writes his novels by dictating as he goes hiking. Can anyone remember this and point me in the direction of where it was mentioned? Thanks!

Trike | 11406 comments Anderson is probably the one you’re thinking of. He’s famous for dictating his books while hiking.

The only author I can recall talking about using dictation in an S&L podcast is David Weber. He went into some detail about his process, especially in the early days of PCs, but he never mentions hiking.

I *think* Michael J. Sullivan has used vox software, but I’m 99% sure he didn’t mention it on an S&L interview.

Joseph | 2433 comments Yep, KJA. I know he's been interviewed (& mentioned the hiking) on Functional Nerds and/or SF Signal, FWIW.

Jenny (Reading Envy) (readingenvy) | 2898 comments Thanks all!
