Introduce Yourself! - OFFICAL THREAD

Books and libraries were my refuge to escape an unhappy childhood. My TBR (To Be Read) pile is ginormous (>300). My favorite genres are classics, mysteries, sci-fi, historical fiction, and some history. Horror used to be my favorite (a big Stephen King & Dean Koontz fan) but less so now.
I also love cycling. My past activities included backpacking, mountaineering, and ice climbing.

My name is Hemilly, i'm 20 years old and live in Brazil. My favorite genres are definitely YA, Fantasy and currently i'm diving into Classics and trying out more genres. My favorite author currently is Carlos Ruiz Zafon and my last 5 star read was A little life by Hanya Yanaghara. I usually procrastinate a lot with my reads and that caused me to have a pretty bad reading slump for about 2 years. Right now i'm rereading Harry Potter, because i literally read all of my physical TBR and also cant go out to buy more. Anyways, nice to meet you all :)
Hello everyone! My name is Hafsah, im 18 and from Kenya. My favourite genres are Historical fiction, YA and classics. Favourite authors include Cassandra Clare, Kristin Hannah and of course Jane Austen. When i'm not reading, im either writing crappy poetry, painting, yoga, watching anime/reading manga, day dreaming and drinking tea. Also 100% obsessed with period dramas/broadway
Feel free to add me as a friend because i love talking about books (or anything) with anyone lol
Happy reading to everyone!

My name is Alkmini, I am from Greece and I love reading books.
I am 26 years old.
I really want to read more of the "classic writers", even though I am usually intimidated by their really big books.

Feel free to add me as a friend or message me about book suggestions or books that you have read :)

My name is Meagan and I am 30. I just got back into reading in a huge way (went from 1-5 books a year to 14 already in 2020!).
I experience good books very viscerally and can talk for hours and hours.. my problem is right now I don't have any friends who are also reading much :( I hope to connect with some folks here to help me slow down a bit and actually get to talk about my mental breakdowns.
My fave genres are Sci-Fi and Fantasy with a healthy dose of romantic subplot (appreciated but not necessary).. political intrigue or horror sub-genres also very fun for me. I love something exciting that will take me away.

I also love KPOP an unhealthy amount! :D Friends?!

And I liked the idea of having a buddy reading, bc I love sharing my opnions about the books I read while I read them. Sooo that's pretty much it(and also pratice my writing in english with somone else).

I love reading YA romance, specifically LGBT romance (something like 21 of the 27 books I've read in the last year and a half have been LGBT, I think!) I used to read so much when I was in middle school, but then high school happened, and then college happened, and what is reading?? (jk, I was reading, but it was always fan fiction)
I just graduated college two months ago and am entering the workforce full time pretty soon, so I'm looking forward to having more time on my hands to get through my TBR list now that I don't have to study!

My favourite genres ate fantasy and YA, but I really love them all

I’m really glad to be a part of this group cause I’m a slow reader and a huge procrastinator 😂😂

Currently a busy and procrastinating pre-med student here but hopefully I get to see all of you around! ♥︎

My name is Catherine, I'm French, I'll be 28 in October and somehow already having a 30s crisis. I read a bit of everything, classics as much as modern books, Adult as much as NA and YA, and many different genres (fantasy, horror, gothic fiction, literary fiction, historical fiction...) I currently own 33 books I still haven't read but can't stop buying new ones I just need to have (although I really should).

Reading becomes my proactive hobby. As early as Grade 6, I began to read fiction books such as Hardy boys and those by R.L.Stine and Christopher Pike. I was one of the most quiet students that time. I rather read than socialize with my classmates, but I was not aloof. I had friends. Just a few.
My current favorite authors are: Joe Abercrombie, Patrick Rothfuss and John Grisham. How about you? Who are your favorite authors?

I have always loved reading, but I have doubled my reading during the covid pandemic. I am an elementary education major, but I think I want to be a professor someday.
I love reading contemporary fiction, memoirs, historical fiction, YA, romance, mystery and really everything. I have been challenging myself to discover new genres like horror and sci fi. I tend to stray away from series, so it will be a fun challenge. My TR is never ending.
Some of my favorite recent reads are: My Year of Rest and Relaxation, Mexican Gothic and Ready Player One!

I set myself a goodreads reading challenge every year and in addition to that I do a prompt challenge most years. I'm on a good way for finishing that this year. :)

Looking forward to the challenges and meeting fellow readers here! :)

Favourite genres are fantasy, magical realism and literary fiction! I'm so very happy to be part of this group, but since life's pretty hectic at the moment I don't know how much I'll be able to participate!

I hope to tackle some of my TBR books. Nice to meet you all!

Aside from reading, I also love to crochet amigurumi and listen to broadway musical soundtracks on repeat. I am so excited to join this group and catch up on reading so many books that I missed out on during my reading slump. Nice to meet you all!
