message 504: by Celeste (new)

Celeste medbery | 2 comments Hi my name is celeste - I have adhd and love reading . Both seem to clash a lot when I try and read and it can be interesting . But I don’t let it stop me or try not to though I seem to be collecting my books instead of reading them lately! Hope to change that. I’m tackling my TBR pile with books I bought two years ago! First up is “Circe” by Madeline Miller .

Thank you for letting me join!

message 508: by Victoria (new)

Victoria Dedmon (vdedmon7) | 5 comments Hey yall! I'm Victoria, 27 (28 in October!), she/her, living in western North Carolina.
I started working at an indie bookstore when I moved to a new town in April and saying I love it is an understatement!
My favorite genres are thrillers, general fiction, and some YA.

Eat_pray_love_read Hii y'all. I'm Cel and I've been meaning to tackle my million books just sitting on my table, so that's why I joined. I've never done a rea-a-thon, so I'm kinda looking up to that. I'll quite literally read whatever just as long as I find it interesting.

I hope we can have a good reading :D

message 510: by Aleck (new)

Aleck (lulzyyy) | 1 comments Hey. I'm Aleck and I have a long TBR and a full bookshelf of books that I haven't touched majority of. I'm also a super slow reader because I have a kid and two jobs. I do work at a library though! I am 32 and located in middle/eastern NC. I usually just read realistic YA, but would like to branch out to horror or fantasy. I'd love to make friends as well :)

message 511: by Bujo_bellel (last edited Sep 20, 2022 08:57PM) (new)

Bujo_bellel (bujo_bellel) | 51 comments Hello everyone! I am Isa and I am a student:) I really enjoy fantasy books with a romance subplot and my favourite series is the Keeper of the Lost Cities! My current favourite book is The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea!! I would love to make some new friends here :)

message 512: by Chelle (new)

Chelle | 1 comments Hi, all! I'm Michelle/Chelle (whichever you prefer) and I recently joined Goodreads as it was recommended to me by a friend. I'm open to discussing books and broadening my reading horizons. I like to read a bit of everything but I'm drawn more towards psychological thrillers, mysteries and crime novels. I have an awful habit of choosing books purely based on their covers but to be honest I have found a few gems that way! I'm really enjoying it here so far and I'm looking forward to getting to know some of you :)

message 513: by savanna (last edited Oct 09, 2022 09:44PM) (new)

savanna (meekaroni) Hello hello, the name's Savanna! I am 18 years of age, from CA, USA, and use she/her pronouns. Favorite genres include historical fiction, contemporary, horror/thriller, classics, LGBTQ+, and the occasional urban fantasy. I prefer to read new adult or adult novels, manga, or graphic novels, however, YA is not out of the question. I don't read too much romance, but if there is romance, it would LGBTQ+, since I find I can relate to it more. Excited to be part of this group, and to meet everyone. \(>-o)/

message 514: by Daniannotates (new)

Daniannotates Hi! I’m Dani (any pronouns), I’m 16, from the states, and completely new to goodreads groups. My TBR is just growing and growing and I’ve been in a reading slump recently. My favorite genres are probably YA fantasy and romance/contemporary. My favorite books are Legendborn, The Lucky List, The Live Hypotheses, The Inheritance Games (I’ve only read the first one) and the whole A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series.

message 515: by Jackson (new)

Jackson Allen | 2 comments Greetings to all - I'm Jackson, an author and recent-refugee from the mess that used to be Twitter. In 2016, I rebooted my life and went full-speed-ahead on being a self-sufficient author. Writing helps me feel like my best self, and my love of writing middle-grade scifi has helped me connect better with people than anything else ever did.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, I rescue cats, and I watch old movies. Happy to be here, thanks for being such a kind and welcoming community.

message 524: by Rat (I'm back) (new)

Rat (I'm back) | 4 comments Ello! You can call me Rat. I've always loved reading ever since I can remember. During the pandemic, I didnt read as much as I wanted to so I am trying to read more often now. I had goodreads before but never rlly used it so, I'm going to start using it more often now! I'll read almost anything that is put in front of me. My favorite genres tho are YA, fantasy, horror, and romance. I've recently been trying to find classic books to read something new.

message 525: by Mark (new)

Mark Benoit Hi,

My name is Markenzie but I go by Mark! I’m newer to Goodreads and part of my procrastination problem was school. I felt as if I was reading for leisure and I had school work that could be done it just stressed me out. I just graduated this past Friday so I’m looking forward to getting back into reading! I’m 23 and enjoy pretty much any genre of book glad I found a group of people with the same problem as me haha

message 526: by Rainy (new)

Rainy Hi my name is Rainy. My pronouns are they/them. I’m a junior in highschool right now. Some of my favorite books are ones that I remember, but forget enough that I can read it multiple times, finding more hints to things each time I do so! I read mostly fantasy series, such as the Lunar Chronicles, Keepers of the Lost Cities, Nissera Novels, and others but there are a few realistic fantasy books I love as well and some realistic fiction. I’m trying to tackle my big TBR list, and trying to get through this year of school. Reading has been my safe place with all that’s happening and has happened in the last years, and I hope to someday bring others the feelings I have with reading by publishing a book of my own!

message 527: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 30 comments hey, I'm a STEM student (writing minor) who wants to read more than I probably can manage lol. My go-to genre is fantasy but I will read sci-fi, horror/thriller, and mystery. My favorite series currently are the Daevabad trilogy and the Folk of the Air.

message 528: by Leigha :] (new)

Leigha :] (leighamabe) Hi everyone! My name is Leigha! I am currently 22 years old, living in Tennessee, and working full time as a donation processor (ask me about my weirdest donations!) for a local thrift store while also being a photographer. Photography is my true passion, therefore I went to a local college and received my BA in Photography! I hope to go full-time with my photo business in the near future. Getting to capture memories for my clients (seniors, couples, families) is what makes my job so worth it!

Before I choose photography, I was torn between studying English or criminology. Although I really enjoy studying English (both reading at writing), I did not see a future for it in my life besides as a hobby. But school absolutely sucked away all my love for reading. I’m hoping that through this app/group I’ll be able to find my safe and healthy space with reading. I don’t want it to feel like a chore haha! On the other hand, criminology was something I also didn’t see working out for me. It’s definitely a fun subject to study, but I don’t think I would survive in the workplace haha! I’ll just stick to my true crime documentaries and be satisfied.

I don’t have many hobbies outside of thrifting and photography, but I also love playing Animal Crossing and exploring new coffee shops in my area! I’m a very low maintenance gal haha! I’m super excited to be apart of this group!

message 529: by Louise (new)

Louise | 1 comments Umh hello. I don’t really know how this works. I’m kinda new to goodreads and everything tbh.
But anyways.
My name is Louise I’m 21 from Sweden. I would really like to start reading more again because I spend way too much time on tiktok.
I used to read like 10 books in a week when I was a kid. Don’t know what happened.
So yeah 😌✋🏻

message 530: by Marie (new)

Marie Dillard | 5 comments hi everyone. my name is Anjelika Dillard and I'm 31. I'm currently a student studying for my BA in Human Services with concentration on Family and Child services. school is a lot so I don't read as much as I'd like. my wife Rubi is also part of this group. she's the one who turned me on to goodreads. I look forward to trying some of the challenges

message 531: by Emily (new)

Emily Joy Hey everyone,

I’m Emily and I’m a high school student in the US. I’m currently (very slowly 😂) reading both Leviathan and Cinder. I just finished Front Country and I’d really recommend! I also love writing but I’m not very consistent. I’m really excited to be a part of this group and hopefully get to know some of you!

message 532: by Emrys (new)

Emrys Peterson Hello! My name is Emrys, I’m 18, and I live in the US! I’ve always LOVED reading, even back in early grades of school, but in my adult life I’ve found it SO hard to blaze through books like I used to! I can’t wait to meet all of you!

message 533: by Eli (new)

Eli Kaufman | 3 comments Hi! My name is Eli, I’m in High School. I got back into reading around March of last year and I’ve read 4 full books since then! I hope to make new friends here. I enjoy reading, music, animals, school, friends, family, and nature :))

⋆˖⁺‧₊☽ Nyx ☾₊‧⁺˖⋆ (kenziebookish) Hi! My name is Kenzie! I am 20 and live in the USA. I really am into fluffy young adult novels. Romance is my favorite by far but every now and then I like to read a thriller. Atm, I am also studying to be an aromatherapist.

message 535: by Kamie (new)

Kamie Fanton Hello my name is Kamie, I am a huge book worm and I always have too many books on my tbr and I never get to all of them.
I have been reading loads and I live reading and I could not live without it.

message 536: by Kamie (new)

Kamie Fanton I am 16 btw did not mention that in my first comment sorry.

message 537: by Fernando (new)

Fernando Rodríguez (fernandorb) | 1 comments Hi, I’m Fernando, I’m 33 years old and of course I’m from Mexico. I have a lot of books in my TBR as many of us in this group. In my list you could find Les Misérables, El Quijote, The Time of the Hero, Chekhov Stories, Thus Spoke Zarathustra, etc.

I’m not sure about my favorite genre but what is true is that I have a certain passion for English literature and philosophy. I’m not against reading the classics and recently I have developed a "mania" for Nobel Prize authors.

Summarizing, I want to read everything but I’m not reading nothing. For me is hard to have an organized plan for reading; at the beginning of the year I said that I’ll read all about Sherlock Holmes and suddenly I jumped to Borges and now I’m trying to enter into the Dune saga.

Until now, my readings have been a lonely trip, but by joining this group, I hope I can find someone to share opinions and thoughts, recommend books and why not, learn from all of you.

message 538: by Rebekah (new)

Rebekah (omgitsrebekah) | 1 comments Hey everyone! My names Rebekah, i’m 24 & from Florida! I have a LOT of books on my TBR but I’m currently stuck in a reading slump :( I love horror books, YA, romance, & fantasy!! My love for reading just recently sparked back up again & Im VERY happy it did! I’m on here to meet new friends, see what y’all are reading, & look at any of y’all recommendations so that I can add more to my TBR <3

message 539: by RachReads (new)

RachReads | 1 comments Hi I’m Rachel I’m 33 from the US. I used read a lot trying to get back into it. This group seems like a good fit as I procrastinate my way through life! Lolz I love sci-fi, romance & thrillers. Feel free to send some book suggestions!! :)

message 540: by eve.lyn._.reads (new)

eve.lyn._.reads Hi~ You can refer to me as DRAGONS*☆4EVER or Dragons on goodreads. I love to read many genres. I have trouble dnf'ing books something so I'm trying to work on that! I'm sad that a lot of my anticipated releases have been disappointing but I'm excited to read the books coming out later this year. I always have a endless pile of books to read.

message 541: by ~Cyanide Latte~ (new)

~Cyanide Latte~ (cyanidelatte) Hey all, call me Cy (or Cyanide, either works.) 33 as of writing this, USA, was invited here by a mutual. I'll read just about anything, though I'm very much a mood reader! I'm also down to talk about horror movies with anyone (I had a very tumultuous relationship with them in my younger years, only to enter my horror era at the end of 2019, and it's here to stay.) Autistic spectrum, so I tend to get really long-winded if I don't consciously cut myself off.

message 542: by sera (new)

sera Hi :) I love to read, though don't do it as much as I should, I waste my time away in my room watching depressing series and telling myself I should probably study. My love for reading has never truly disappeared but it picked up again recently when I found myself studying more and more in the library. I love all types of books but am personally partial to sci-fi and the odd high fantasy book here and there. I'll force myself to read the nitty gritty real life stuff if I have to. Excited to make friends and chat about books ;)

message 543: by Eva (new)

Eva B. Hi, my name is Eva. I read a lot and I write sometimes, and I'm constantly getting distracted by my cat.

message 544: by cc (new)

cc (caitlinisakittycat) hello! just joined today & I'm using this group as motivation to keep going on my journey to read the entire Shadowhunters series in chronological order. so far, I've made it through the first three Bane Chronicles short stories & Clockwork Angel. I am not onto Clockwork Prince. 30% of this project will be rereading old favorites, but 70% of it is all new. (I've read The Infernal Devices, The Mortal Instruments, & Lady Midnight in the past.)

✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧ Bini's Era ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧ (ninalovelylehman) heeeey !! I just joined today and I'm super excited to get to know you guys ! I'm reading Verity by Colleen Hoover and A Girl Called Samson by Amy Harmon.

message 546: by Lethe (new)

Lethe | 1 comments Hi everyone! My name is Lethe, I'm 25 and just joined today. I'm not sure how these groups work so I'll be trying to understand everything. I've already completed the first reading goal for this year so I updated it to read a bit more, I'll try this challenge to complete the new goal.

message 547: by Nikita (new)

Nikita Hello, my name is Nikita and I'm 36 yrs old. I live in America and I always have a book to read. Lately I'm having trouble finding a book to read and just been re-reading old favorites. My to read list schedule keeps changing. I read using an audiobook because I have a reading disability.

My primary favorite include anything by Sarah J. Maas, Marissa Meyer and Julie Kagawa. I also love Shadowhunter Chronicles, Harry Potter, Grisha Universe, Aurora Cycle, Hunger Games, School for Good & Evil and Vampire Academy. I'm also a fan of manga that include Yu-Gi-Oh, My Hero Academia, Sailor Moon and Fruits Basket.

message 548: by Ilsen (new)

Ilsen | 125 comments Hi everyone! My name is Ilsen and I'm 24 years old. I live in Miami and I just graduated college. My favorite genres are contemporary, mystery, and fantasy! I guess my least favorite genre is Western because I am not a big fan of it but I am willing to try anything. I read mostly YA but I am slowly branching out to Adult with my Book of the Month subscription and middle grade through Goodreads groups.

Other interests other than reading is baking, listening to music such as Taylor Swift, Little Mix, Blackpink (also getting into more Kpop girl groups such as Itzy and Ive), and planning in my journal. Favorite books include They Both Die at the End, The Astonishing Color of After, Blanca and Roja, The Darkest Minds series, An Ember in the Ashes series, Three Dark Crowns series, the Grishaverse, The Poet X, and The Art of French Kissing.

I am glad I got invited to this group because now that I finished college, I am (somehow) procrastinating on reading because I don't know what to start. Plus my TBR list is getting larger because I keep buying books instead of reading them and I hadn't had the time to read because of school and life. So I really need the motivation. Hope to make some new friends in this group!
