Rainbowheart | 28648 comments Hi guys,

This is driving me nuts. I can't find this book anywhere. I know it's from the '90s or before. It's an adult science fiction novel about a planet (possibly not Earth) where everyone was male. All the men were gay and could conceive children sired by their male lovers. Every child was a boy as well.

The title of the book was possibly Adam, but searches with that come up with nada. It's definitely not anything to do with Y: The Last Man. It was a hardcover book, possibly from a gay press.

Thanks mucho for any help!

SBC (essbeecee) | 1594 comments Could it be Lois McMaster Bujold's Ethan of Athos?

Rainbowheart | 28648 comments Thanks, but I don't believe so. I've come across Bujold's book before. I believe mine was written by a male author and the book was possibly from a gay press. If it helps, I don't think there were any female characters at all.

The Left Hand of Darkness was not about an "all-male world"; the human population was hermaphroditic.

Rainbowheart | 28648 comments None of these, thanks.

As far as I can remember, the characters were not hermaphrodites and did not switch sexes. I believe they were fully male. I'm almost positive the men could get pregnant, although perhaps they had some other way of making babies. The main character, Adam, had two fathers.

Rainbowheart | 28648 comments Thanks, Dee, but not that one.

The book I'm looking for was published in the '90s or earlier.

Rainbowheart | 28648 comments I found my book!

Albert, Or, the Book of Man by Perry Brass

I was wrong on the name. It was Albert, not Adam.

Thanks guys for trying to help!

Rachel Adiyah | 21 comments Hi everyone!

Just FYI: There is not just one book about this topic but THOUSANDS! Literally, THOUSANDS! I've read eight books about this topic, already! If you're looking for this type of novel go on Amazon.com and type the following as a search parameter: omega mpreg. This is what is known as an alpha/omega mpreg (male pregnancy) novel. The Alpha is a hyper-masculine male, usually a werewolf shapeshifter - although there are books like this where everyone is simply human - and sometimes alien, with the Omega being an effeminate man who has masculine genitalia outside but inside has a womb and eggs and the capacity to bear children, usually many at once in a shorter amount of time than a female, and is emotionally sensitive.

Here are the titles I've read:

The Aliens and Their Omega
Human Omega
Paternity Ward
Omega Stolen
Winter Omega
Omega for the Pack
Alpha for the Pack
Beloved of the Pack
Omega Saved and Mated
His Reluctant Omega
Secret Baby Omega

Okay, that's more than eight books. But my point is that this is a thing. There are many more where those came from.

Thanks I missed that. I was searching in the tags for a similar book and it brought this up and I assumed it was unsolved.
