Tyler | 3 comments She starts off around 12 years old, and attracts the eye of an English nobleman with a severe ego issue, (I believe his name was Lundy but im not 100%) she has a trusty servant that helps her along the way, is eventually sent to England for schooling, runs away because they weren't tolerant of her Indian religious culture, falls in love, and is constantly stalked by the English lord. That is all the detail I can think of without spoilers. I believe it was written in the 70s or 80s, but again I'm not sure, that is just based on how the pages seemed to have aged when i read it (sometime around 2015) If i can think of any more relevant detail, i will gladly update this post, but until then, I really hope somebody knows what I'm talking about. Please and think you for any attempts to help and feel free to ask questions you may find useful!

Part of a series?
What time period did the story take place?
Were there any fantasy elements in the story?

Im fairly certain it was a single book, not part of a series, unfortunately the dust cover had been lost, so the hardback was a plain brown... not very helpful i know. It takes place during the English Imperial control over India, Post medieval, but for sure pre-ghandi. For the most part is was a historical fiction, unless you count the girls practice of a type of magic/prayer called poona (i believe that is how they spelled it) which involved worshiping over a phallus made of cow dung and milk to one specific Hindu god. If it helps, I believe the book was sectioned by parts, as well as chapters. Thank you for looking in to this for me. :)
