Hello! We're Deborah Kaya, the mother-daughter writing team of Deborah Brenner and her daughter, Kaya Gabsy. We're currently writing book three of our Quantum Fiction quartet, THE TAMMABUKKU CHRONICLES and would like to make friends. Our story spans thousands of years and its main themes are reincarnation, time travel, multiverses, ascension and the non existence of time. The books are set in modern times, the Victorian era, Roman Britain, World War I, the Georgian Era, and Ancient Ireland. The books bridge science and spirituality and are full of magic realism but the characters remain relatable people.

Nicole (thistlefox) Hello everyone! I have been on a long hiatus. I thought I would come in here and introduce myself in hopes of meeting some nice people.

My name is Nicole and I love reading! I always have books on whether I be in between classes, in my portable hammock (I highly recommend if you love nature and reading), or snuggled up with Myles the cat. I'm twenty-six and I am in university studying biology with a concentration in oceanography. I love to travel around my area with my camera which I am learning. I also love cooking yummy vegan food. :-) My favourite book is the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and The Contortionists Handbook (Craig Clevenger). I hate naming genres because I give most books a chance, but I do enjoy science-fiction, philosophy/logic/ethics especially if pertaining to veganism, fantasy, and graphic novels.

I am a poor university student so I am so thankful for the local libraries, little free libraries, and GR giveaways. This is how I learned to give a diverse set of genres a chance... because I find so many treasures and gems hunting for something I can get my hands on to read :-) There is a library exchange about fifty minutes away from me where people may drop off all their unwanted books. I make trips there whenever I can.

Anthony Puyo | 1 comments Does anyone else feel the first page should have the most recent posts? Anyways, my name is Anthony Puyo, I just happened to stumble on this group. I'm in other groups but these topics fit a large part of my interests, and I'm pretty stoked that I found it. I am an author as well, I hope this group is kind to writers. And I'm looking forward to meeting everyone here. And since we're on the topic, I'll plug my upcoming release that's on pre-order for a pathetic 99 cents. Very limited time, of course. In it, I tell a story based on the way things are progressing today from politics, pop-culture, and technology. It's a future tale in which the human race falls deeper in love with their phone technology and a new cyberworld dubbed the mainframe. The drama lies between the few who believe our merging with tech is killing our identity/species, and the majority who feel technology is the gateway to world peace and new far beyond frontiers. I hope you guys check it out. It's written well, and has flow similar to that of Black Crouch's novels. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DYLZ673

Cradle2ACasket | 1 comments Hello everyone, my name is Miranda. Thank you for accepting me into this wonderful group. I have been very deep into a wide variety of what you would call conspiracy theories...or some would simply call the truth. Depending on which side of the fence you land on. ;)

I could write a novel about all the conspiracies I’ve delved into but I can say I’ve never read about The orphan trilogy that you all are talking about, but I am intrigued now. I am going to get it and get to reading it.

Thank you for letting me in, I look forward to getting to know you all and having some awesome discussions with you! :)

message 813: by Paul (new)

Paul | 1 comments Hey y’all,
Thanks inviting me James. I like the idea of this group. You can call me conspiracy nut, since I’ve been reading a lot (perhaps too much?) these past two years. What I like about the idea of this group, on this platform is that we are united with one common thread: books.
Perhaps the biggest hurdle to gnosis, or knowledge for most people to wake up is information. And it sure ain’t gonna happen on Mockingbird mainstream media.
Regarding some of my recent favourites, I would include David Icke’s books (Phantom Self for wakin me up); currently am reading an amazing novel series called Sub Rosa America by Elana Freeland which is all the craziest (and factual) conspiracies out rolled into a novel. I seldom read novels, but I’ve come to realize that truth being stranger than fiction, often is digested better in fiction form. Call it a Paradox but it sure works!
Anyways, looking forward to discussions here. Enjoy a great summer folks. And stay safe & vigilent out there. Peace

Roberto Audiffred | 7 comments Hi, I'm new here too. I like to read some "fringe" stuff, like John A. Keel or Jacques Vallee. I just re-read Passport to Magonia and read Messengers of Deception for the first time. I also like some history books, conspiracy theories, and political stuff, although by now I can't stand "left vs. right" arguments. I'm not sure we can change the world but we can certainly change ourselves. I'm interested in discussions about questioning views of reality from a perspective of open-mindedness but the problem is many times people attracted to "far-out" or "alternative" topics or theories are either gullible and end up talking about the flat earth or are condescending cynics. I like intellectual exercises. I also dabble in writing and drawing comic books and other stuff. Thanks for letting me participate.

Andrew Levy Hello all.

I have just published 'The Dweller's Guide To The Planet' on Kindle. I didn't intend it to be subversive but the facts made it that way. I started with 219 possible places on earth to live and looked to see which could be disqualified on the basis of regime, war, crime, climate change, affordability, culture shock. The Dweller's Guide To The Planet: All You Need To Know About Everywhere I am also writing a daily update blog: www.thedwellersguide.com
I'd very much like to review your book if you've written anything in any way connected - and perhaps you could review mine. I think Life and Fate by Vasily Grossman is probably the best novel of the 20th century - and its underground credentials are that it was written in 1960 but suppressed by the Soviet regime so that it was never published in the West until 1980. Anyway, thanks in advance and please let me know if you have a book you'd like an honest review of.

Welcome Chelsea.

What do you make of current legalisation of marijuana (medical or otherwise) in relation to people with serious mental health issues?

I understand there’s real dangers in mixing the two with many doctors and psychiatrists warning of potential abuse issues around legalisation – one professor here in NZ describing legalised marijuana as a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

Your thoughts?

Thanks Howard and well done getting your novel, The Damascus Cover, adapted for the big screen - I'll be sure to see that film sometime. Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a great actor.

From your perspective, what is the solution for the Middle East?
I mean, as an outsider I'm confused by it all...
Do we need to give the Palestinians more land?
Or do we need to destroy the terrorist outfits surrounding Israel and provide greater education to Palestinians so they don't grow up to become terrorists?
Or, conversely, do we need to study history again and look at the post WW2 maps of Israel and figure out if there were unsanctioned border additions as the Palestinians say?

Or is there just no hope for peace in the region?

message 836: by James, Group Founder (new)

James Morcan | 11380 comments Howard wrote: "Can you direct me to some relevant threads I have a hard time navigating goodreads"

None specifically on the Middle East crisis that I can recall, but we did set up various discussion threads aiming to combat/debunk the amount of Holocaust denial online:

Debunking Holocaust deniers https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

Some of those threads, in my opinion, tie in to the growing anti-Semitic agendas throughout the Middle East in that people who end up buying that fascist propaganda of Holocaust denial, then see Israel as their enemy...So perhaps the world at large still has not learnt the lessons from WW2??

Oh, and there is a thread on Yassar Arafat, inspired by a recent BBC documentary that asked whether he was murdered:

Yasser Arafat -- Died of natural causes? Or, was he assassinated? https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Howard Kaplan | 5 comments I think the only possible solution is a two state solution, the great minds are The Commanders in Israel, a group of former generals Israeli heads of intelligence and I describe them in The Spy's Gamble which is a novel that moves through real events. They say let's have a freeze on Israeli settlements in the West Bank and maintain an Israeli military position on the Jordan River all this if necessary for a generation or two until populations rise that can compromise and forge a solution. I am an artist/unpublished author and avid reader of books on self development and spirituality.
In 2016 I had a spiritual, not religious epiphany, and my world view changed radically. It turns out that my purpose is to shine light on all the dark in our beautiful world and so I am gently being sucked down the dark rabbit hole of conspiracy and injustice. My spirit guides encourage me to speak my truth and I have just finished my first book, 'Mama, Mama Are You There?' I wrote this in real time over the last two years and it charts my extraordinary awakening which is relevant to us all in these troubled times.
I am keen to learn from you all and look forward to some lively interactions...

Amr Mohamed | 1 comments Hi
I'm doing research in psychology especially about relations and minds,
need to take opinions.
 How does our brain work?

 Our brains exactly like a hard drive in the computer in the function of saving the memories.

 Collecting all the information from electrochemical signals from our inputs organs.

 Distributing this group of information to the matched reports.

 Matching this report by 95% to 100% to proceeding reactions.

 Sends back the report of reaction to outputs organs to do the reactions.

 The brain is working with minimum memory space and its energy we are not using the half of its energy at all in our life.

 There are two ways of thinking, some people think about things in the future it will maybe happen or not, this way making our brains get confused, Choosing thoughts randomly, building it on anything inside the memory starting from old ones and save most of it in the subconscious mind with creating fears of the future.

 The other way, which little people can do it, they think about something they already have to develop it or creating something new, or invention or by developing their hobbies to expertise or arts or creativity.

message 843: by Paul (new)

Paul Conant | 1 comments Hello, my name is Paul Conant, and while I'm new to this group - and to goodreads.com in general - I'm not new to researching hidden, underground, and even controversial ideas.

I've had a number of experiences in life that caused me to question mainstream news, education, science, etc… and have spent the better part of the last decade dodging accusations of tin-foil hat wearing. To make a long story short, these experiences can be described as a series of visions, synchronicities, and discoveries which lead me into broad awareness of such subjects as suppressed science, consciousness research, NWO/Globalism. occult, UFO's, etc.

Alas, I believe that sometimes knowledge is hidden because it's under-appreciated, and other times because it's simply suppressed. It's important at times to make a distinction.

Furthermore, information can sometimes be suppressed because there are negative forces in the world; other times, it's suppressed for benevolent reasons (for example, many parents wait before they tell their children that Santa isn't actually coming down their chimney once a year). This is also a helpful distinction for reading the landscape in which we find ourselves.

Either way, underground knowledge is underground knowledge, regardless of how it got "buried" underground… If we can learn the reasons why it was buried, we may learn more about our world than we could through any other means.

Anyways, you probably get the idea by now - I'm a curious fellow, a self-appointed sleuth of whatever mystery that may cross my path, who likes to get to the bottom of things. Not only do I find this enjoyable, but I see an urgent and massive benefit to myself and others for following my own curiosity - I hope others feel the same way about themselves.

Rita Louise | 2 comments Greetings all,
I have just released a new book called Stepping Out Of Eden. In looking to promote it, I ran across this group. Thought I would share a little about the book and look forward to some lively discussion with you.

Stepping Out Of Eden
Stepping Out of Eden

Science has manipulated DNA, mapped the human genome, and cloned both plants and animals. They estimate that humans share 99 percent of their DNA with chimps, but the 1 percent difference enables humans to create art, literature and religion.

We often wonder, what makes humans innately human? Is it our biological differences, our lack of body hair, the size of our brains, opposable thumbs or our ability to walk upright? What was the catalyst that spurred the transition from tree-dweller to an upright, tool-making being able to travel to the moon?

The evolution of man has adherents in multiple disciplines. Some hold firm to religious doctrine, while others believe evolution is nothing more than survival of the fittest and that humans are still developing. Other factions believe that humans were genetically engineered by extraterrestrials and are the result of an infusion of alien DNA.

Dr. Rita's new book, Stepping Out Of Eden, offers a new theory that will leave readers questioning and contemplating the implications long after they've turned the last page. It incorporates perspectives from a variety of disciplines ranging from psychology, behaviorism, anthropology and science to religion, spiritualism and mythology. Through logical investigation into the mythic records, archeological finds and theological sources, she arrives at clear and concise conclusions. The book offers a broader view that questions many of humanity's most dearly held beliefs about itself and answers many of the questions that people have, but are told not to ask.
