I have no title nor the author. It was about a cursed ship and I remember the book was set in the 17th or 18th century. One of the characters was killed by a tiger in India. I read it in the late 80s and it might have been a YA fiction but most likely it was a classic book, written before 20th century.

Any ideas?

The Phantom Ship (1839) by Frederick Marryat? There are different cover images.

That's great. Glad you found your book, Daniel.

I find www.worldcat.org (advanced search) is particularly helpful when searching for older books as you can enter a specific publication date range.
