Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments I've always loved the idea of reading a book with 1 or 2 people and talking about it every couple of chapters.

Would anyone be interested in doing something like this here? :)

Christine | 33 comments That sounds like an awesome idea! I'm definitely interested!

message 7: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments I own quite a few books I haven't read - so a few more suggestions?

Eleanor & Park, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, Burn for Burn, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Perks of Being a Wallflower,Wicked Lovely, and The Host, etc.

I think Hush Hush, City of Bones, and Uglies is out of the picture - I've already read them! And, I haven't read If I Stay before!

I'm also up to reading anything!

message 8: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments I've read Eleanor & Park, The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and The Host from Christine's list and only Four: A Divergent Story Collection, Paper Towns and Uglies from Megan's. (I enjoyed all of them too! There is a few that I wouldn't mind re-reading at some point either!)

I'd be interested in reading something by Jenny Han as I've not read anything by her before and she seems super popular, ditto with Colleen Hooverand Gayle Foreman. What do you guys think of those authors? :)

message 9: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
I like Gayle Foreman! :)
I would also be okay with Jenny Han, because I've heard of her before!

message 10: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments I'm definitely okay with all three!

message 11: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments Sweet! Should we decide on a book and then aim to have it found/purchased by Friday maybe? :)

I was thinking To All the Boys I've Loved Before or Just One Day?

message 12: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments I've just requested both from my local library! If push comes to pull, I'll purchase them :D

Both sound great - it'll be awesome to try reading something out of my usual genres!

message 13: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
I'm going to the bookstore tomorrow, and I'm planning on buying Just One Day! :)

message 14: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments I picked up my copy yesterday! Should we start reading on Monday? and maybe read the first few chapters by Wednesday?

message 15: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Which book do you want to read first? My copy of Just One Day is currently in transit so I should be able to get my hands on it soon! I think I'm going to go buy To All the Boys I've Loved Before!

message 16: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments We can wait till you get your copy of Just One Day! :)

I need to pick up a copy of To All The Boys I've Loved Before, I'll try and do that next week, I really want to read it! :)

message 17: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Sorry for the delay, but I have my copy of Just One Day!

message 18: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments Awesome! Wanna start reading it tomorrow? (Monday, 24th Aug)

message 19: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Sure! How much should we read?

message 20: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
Can we maybe start tuesday?
mondays are super duper busy for me :(
plus i havent gotten the book like i planned whoopsies :)

message 21: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments That's absolutely a-okay! I haven't gotten a copy of To All the Boys I've Loved Before either. Just a heads up - reading might a bit hard for me once school starts up in a week: I'm in quite a reading intensive English class!

message 22: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
Yeah we might have to go at a slow pace for me too, I started school on friday :(

message 23: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Oh my gosh, that's so soon D:

Man, even Sept. 2nd seems too soon for me. Where did summer go?

message 24: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
I know :(
wherever summer went, it needs to come back asap.
I'm already stressing.

message 25: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Same here! It feels like summer just started and here we are with only a week left - I still feel like I've done nothing cool haha. I'm doing PSEO and it's absolutely terrifying.

message 26: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments No worries! I've finished University now but have started working (I'm so old! haha) just let me know when you guys are wanting to start up! :D

Best of luck with your classes and stuff! :)

message 27: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments I just got my copy of Just One Day and I'm up for reading at anytime now!

message 28: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments So is this going to be a thing anymore? Haha

message 29: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
I still have to buy it, but once I do yes!!

message 30: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Okay awesome! I just wasn't entirely sure what was happening ^^ But take your time - there's definitely no rush!

message 31: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments I still want to! :D

message 32: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
I just ordered it! I should have it Tuesday!!

message 33: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Awesome! Are we planning to read both at the same time or one at a time? :D

message 34: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
I think we should do one at a time haha

message 35: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Oh yeah, man, I totally agree. I have a huuuge stack of books to read for lit as well. School gives me absolutely no time for reading D:

message 36: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments Sounds good to me! How fast should we try and read it?

I was thinking something like 3-5 chapters a week? But that might be a bit too slow since there are 39 in total?

message 37: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
Maybe we could aim for 3-5 chapters for the first week, and then at the end of the week we can all talk about it and decide if its a good pace or not?

message 38: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Agreed - We're reading Just One Day first, correct?

message 39: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
yes!
oh and another question, I feel like we should kind of know what time zones were in/ where we're from haha.
I'm from Ohio which is EST time zone

message 40: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments I'm from Minnesota, so I'm in central!

message 41: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments I'm in the UK, so GMT! Hahaa

message 42: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Okay, so that means, Megan is one hour ahead of me, and Quinn is about six hours ahead of me and five ahead of Megan. How about instead of picking a specific time, we can say, "finish chapters 1-5" by Friday, September 12th"! Does that sound good? Then we can discuss on Saturday at whatever time works for you guys! Or we can just discuss over the whole weekend and just reply whenever you feel is convenient!

message 43: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments I think perhaps discussing what we read over the whole weekend might be the best idea?

I am actually going away this week to finally graduate from University (I completed my course in June but UK schools are weird, haha) so there is a slight possibility that I mightn't read all 5 chapters but I'll try my best! :)

message 44: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments That's totally cool! Just take your time! These deadlines are super casual and definitely not set in stone~ Congratulations on graduating!

message 45: by Megan (new)

Megan (booksandmeg) | 19 comments Mod
I just got the book! I'm ready whenever :)

message 46: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Okay! I think we should try to read to about chapter 5 by this weekend!

message 47: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments I'm already on chapter three, the chapters are fairly short. :)

message 48: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments How's everyone's reading doing? :)

message 49: by Quinn (new)

Quinn Shipton (seequinn) | 19 comments I got the 5 chapters read, I'm ready to talk about them if everyone else has? :) I'm excited to read more!

message 50: by Christine (new)

Christine | 33 comments Same! The chapters are really easy to get through! I'm ready to discuss as well!
