I have started re-reading Stay Awake by Dan Chaon. This is a short story collection in which several stories feature characters with nightmares.

I've been looking at books that will work with this Fall Reading Challenge.
The PBS 100 Great American Reads offer lots of variety to choose from. From that list, I'm planning to read the following (and maybe more if I get around to it):
I haven't read any of the authors who have birthdays - from that list, the author Neal Shusterman seems most intriguing to me and I'm going to try Bruiser first.

Hey Everyone......sorry to be behind on this challenge. I was back in Colorado helping out with my son and his wife. My daughter in law was in the hospital. It was pretty scary for a few days but she is headed back to her healthy life. I tell you, and you all know this, appreciate every day because you never know when something is going to blindside you. Anyway, I am home again and ready to be back to normal. The Fall Challenge looks great. Thank you Rachel! I will set my goal and have some recommendations for reads on the challenge later on today. I've missed you guys.
I read the book The Hate U Give. I HIGHLY recommend reading it. I also want to see the movie. It might be something we can do a group read on, separate from the challenge. There's lots to think about in that book.
I will definitely look into The Hate U Give as soon as I have room ob my library card to request it. Thanks for the recommendation 🙃😍

Is anyone watching The Great American Read on PBS........I'm totally book geeking out over it. I think its really well done and inspiring me to read a lot of books on the list as well as re-reading some of my favorites. How many books have you read on the list?
Christine wrote: "Is anyone watching The Great American Read on PBS........I'm totally book geeking out over it. There are so many books that I want to read on the list-I think i’ve read 21 of the books-don’t remember how many others are on my tbr. I especially loved Gillian Flynn’s comments but also just loved hearing everyone talk about their favorites.
I am currently reading American Gods by Neil Gaiman. I've attempted it before but never succeeded. The main character is a widow(er) so I'm going to use it for the Fall Challenge.
I am currently reading Twilight Eyes. The main character is having nightmares. Twilight Eyes is also the October Group Read for the Koontzland - Dean Koontz Group :-)

I've started reading and re-reading Stephen King's short stories. He's my favorite author and I have voted for
as my favorite read on The Great American Read!

I think you can vote for multiple books if you’d like which is what I might do -don’t think I can narrow it down to just one. :)
There's a lot of good ones on the list. I keep watching the show and have added a few to my TBR list. It never seems to go down, lol.
I just finished A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership and while I considered counting it as a book with monsters in it, I decided people might not take it as the joke it was meant to be. I do encourage people to read it. His epilogue is hopeful especially after the dark days we have experienced leading up to the latest Supreme Court battle. It wasn't a book I considered reading but my sister encouraged it and loaned me her copy. I'm glad I did. If anything, read the epilogue.

P.S. I say count it ;)
i just finished a book about a widow This Is Your Life, Harriet Chance!, about what you would expect, sometimes funny, sometimes sad. It definitely explores the relationships we have with our parents, our partners and our children. I liked that it was set in the Northwest.

I'm currently reading the following books which all work toward the Fall Reading Challenge:
I plan to start the following one this week:

I don't think this was the type of book you had in mind when you added K-I-N-D to the challenge......I read
. They have added a great new character, Princess, watch out when she has to put her goggles down, lol. Happy Halloween Everyone! Have lots of treats and few tricks, lol.
Christine wrote: "I plan on reading Dark Places for the challenge too. I will probably start some time this week."
I watched the movie last week too. Also both read the book and watched the film for The Hate U Give.

How’s everything?
Greetings Rachel!
Things are overall well. I'm flying through audiobooks working in the warehouse and having fun working at the movie theater on weekends.
It's getting a little bit colder in Colorful Colorado, which always makes scootering a bit tricky but I'm going into my sixth winter as a scooterist and have a good amount of scoot life experience to carry with me. I'd much rather ride Hooter the Orange Scooter than take the bus whenever possible.
