A tightly fought round, with three songs having scored a score or more. So, for once....(& to save getting the RSJ's out to reinforce the podium!)..I did a rare countback; here's the results:

Congrats to the winners, not a bad round all told. But hard luck to Jemma, this week's wooden spooner. I recall, a couple of years ago, B. A. Robertson was nom'd on one of the detest rounds, with a song called Kool In The Kaftan, I think. If memory serves me, it won that round...so not a lot of love lost, in this here discerning group for ol' Bazza, it would appear!

A musician accredited with an less than flattering award in 1983: the Golden Raspberry award for worse original song in a movie. Co written by B. A. Robertson, Terry Britten & Sue Shifrin, sung by Kristy McNichol, for the movie The Pirate Movie (how original!), was entitled...…. Pumpin' & Blowin'!

Never mind Jemma, there's always nect time...and you do get a lovely brand spanking shiny new wooden spoon..i had it polished especially! :)

Thanks to everyone who voted for Kate Miller-Heidke - I didn't think she'd be your cuppa at all, given that quite a few don't like female vocals and she comes from an operatic background. She is multi-talented as, apart from her success in the pop arena, she has written a wonderful opera based on John Marsden's children's book, "The Rabbits", as well as the music and lyrics for the new musical "Muriel's Wedding". And she's funny too. I think I've posted "Australian Idol" before but it always makes me laugh:

I stopped adorning the spoons, cos somebody had queried why they came with ribbons on 'em. So, not wanting to offend anybody, nor risk being accused of being sexist..my little box of pink & blue ribbons were put away to gather dust on some lonely shelf in a dark room, to be forgotten and unloved for all eternity.... *cue sombre violin solo*

However....I shall recover the box from it's dusty forlorn place in the room where all things get forgotten, give the box and good dusting...and pick out the best, crisp, wee pink ribbon, and a cute bow shall be tied on it, just for you, Jemma! :-)
