Review: One of the things I love about historical mysteries is being transported to another time. This one had all the grit and pain of the hardships of life when things were not simple - everything took time, even earning and getting money. So it is that we find our first narrator struggling to make his way while waiting for funds from home. He gets sucked into a mysterious death and away the story goes. I loved the use of the different narrators, each a little unreliable as their experiences and beliefs color their interpretations of events and people. It was fun to see how all the pieces of the puzzle started to come together and it definitely kept me guessing. I loved it! I only knocked off a star because it could drag at times.
I have no clue how to add a link in from the app so I will link up Logan's book and roll when I get home.
You can roll now and do the rest later. As long as all reviews are posted, we're good to go. The administrative tasks can wait. :)
Since Jade will only be gone for a couple of days, I'm assuming she'll be fine to read. She's usually pretty quick.

Review:
I really enjoyed this book, I listened to the audio version and the narrators did an amazing job. The book was a bit repetitive in places they want each other, they know they shouldn't, they share a steamy kiss then again know they shouldn't.
Widowed Father Matthew is looking for a Nanny to look after his children, so he can keep working to support them. Octavia is desperate for a job and applies for the position, she is not what he is looking for, he's a tortured soul still reeling from the death of his wife and fines Octavia presses every button he has. There is a lot going on throughout the book but I found a really enjoyable read and I will definitely read the author again.

Yes I am the same! I am waiting to get into the 80s as I have a number 8 to read, but no 7s! I need to continue with the Lunar chronicles as I only read books 1 and 2 and that was in early 2016

Book: Threatcon Delta by Andrew Britton
Qualification: Ryan Kealey #7
Pages: 528
Finished: 03 Dec 2018
Rating: ★★
Review:
This was... I don't even know what this was. The real Andrew Britton would likely be rolling over in his grave if he were to read what whichever ghostwriter was using his name for this one concocted as the (thankfully) final book in this series. The whole "ancient religious artifact meets conspiracy" thing was entirely too Dan Brown if you ask me (which, y'know, is fine if you're looking to read a Dan Brown novel, but that's not what this was supposed to be)... or maybe that should be "too Indiana Jones" (which, again, is fine if you're looking for an Indiana Jones movie), given the Nazi connection. (Sure, let's bring in the Nazis, because that hasn't been done a million times... In case you're wondering: Yes, I'm literally rolling my eyes as I type this. Just as I did when what passes for a plot in this book started to become clearer, and at the same time, utterly predictable.) In addition to the fact that the plot is an overblown, ridiculous mess, I also found Kealey himself to be extremely unlikable in this installment, much more so than in any of the previous books. It's just as well that this was the last book. The quality of these books has deteriorated to the point that I wouldn't pick up the next one even if there were one.

Review: Lara Bailey is an FBI agent sent to Colorado to investigate billionaire Marcus Colter, who is suspected of collaborating with terrorists. While trying to find and attract Marcus's attention, she meets his brother, Tate, who is more than intrigued with Lara. Although Lara initially wants nothing to do with Tate - she's on a mission for gods sake - he saves her from a blizzard and starts to worm his way into her heart. This was a quick, sexy and interesting story without much depth.

Rating: 4 star
Review:
I love Halloween LaVeau and her group of friends. I loved that they took it on the road and visited a couple different areas in this book. I was slightly disappointed with the grammar errors. I don't usually notice so many in her books (if any). Other than that, it was a fun and easy read. Can't wait to read more.

Review: ** spoiler alert ** I enjoyed this reread. The writing is so easy to read and makes the story juts flow organically. I love the parodies to Cinderella, and feel It’s been retold in its own way. I love Cimder, I love how she has no idea she is the Princess. I love how she would rather a set of wrenches than a glamorous dress. It was sad when both Peony and Prince Kai’s Dad died. I am keen to see where this goes (the next one is a reread, but then it’s all new).

We've been waiting for Geordie's story. He's such a wonderful guy but just so sad. And he's still sad at the beginning of this book. He lost the love of his life 4 years ago and just can't move on. In walks Levi who's opening a restaurant down the street and of course Geordie doesn't notice him at all. *snort* If there was ever a more perfect person for him, I can't even imagine it. Levi is all things wonderful in a person. He's patient and understanding and sexy and smart and sexy.....This was a great story that really makes me want to go out and buy a pink vespa!

Review: The thing I love about Kitty Thomas novels is how much they make me think. Did he make her a slave or set her free? How does blackmail color consent? Is consent a choice when given two horrible options? This book explored all of these and intrigued me. I liked seeing Emily learn how to survive and ultimately how to live. I do wish we had learned more about Master. His journal was supposed to answer a lot of our questions about him, but it didn’t really satisfy me or make me understand why he did this in the first place. Still a very good book but not my favorite of Thomas’.
Looks like we have a winner so it was great playing with you guys. I hope we are in a challenge together in the future.
Thanks for captaining, Donna! I had a great time with you guys. Too bad we didn't even get close to the finish line, but it was still a lot of fun! :)

Review:
Finally! Seraphina & Sebastian have finally stopped being stubborn. I love how strong willed both of them are. I was so happy to read a book devoted to these two. I am hoping the author continues. There are a few more characters that I would love to see books about.
