Review:
Like Ezinwanyi, I freaking LOVE this series. I've read the entire series, but I haven't done any re-reads. Not sure why since I do love it. I'm stuck working on a mindless task, so I have been listening to whatever audiobooks I can borrow. I listened to Cut & Run this week and the narrator was just simply awful, but I still liked the story. Fortunately, Sean Crisden did a great job with this book. And, now I think I need to re-read the entire series.

Book: The Seduction of the Crimson Rose
How it fits: Pink Carnation #4

Review: This is one of my favorites in the Pink Carnation series. I love how the author manages to write in such innuendos. It's so different than her other styles. The two main characters are far from perfect. In fact, they are self-serving and cynical. But I still found myself rooting for them to fall in love and prevail against the bad guy.

Book: Easy by Dahlia West 10/20/18
How it fits: Burnout #4
Pages: 246

Review
Jimmy aka "Easy” lost his leg in Iraq 3 years ago and has had a hard time getting back to life, let alone a sex life. Daisy has moved to Rapid City to start over and get away from her past of bad decisions. When the clothes are off (her's anyway) these two fit together in every way. The rest of the time, Easy is an ass.
I loved Daisy. She was a strong woman who took no crap. Well, except from Easy. He would keep walking away and she would keep coming back for more. We get our HEA though when he finally smartens up and realizes he does love her and needs to go chase her.

Book: Texas Fall by R.J. Scott
Qualification: Texas #6
Pages: 160
Read: 10/20
Rating & Review: ★★★
There was a fair amount of drama in this one. This story brings us to the trial of the man who abused Liam, one of the ranch hands and several of their young boys. . I like Jack and Riley, their kids, family and ranch hands. They were all really supportive of each other and it’s a place for love and healing
Unfortunately I’ve reached a point where The Campbell Hayes marriage has grown mundane for me. The sex scenes are about the same-mundane.
What I did love was that Jack travelled to support Liam as he gave his testimony against Hank Castile. And Riley kidnapping changes their dynanmic as he is now suffering from PTSD. The next book should provide me with the angst that I loved in book 1.

Book: Tempted
How it Fits: House of Night #6
Pages: 319
Date Read: 10/21/18
Rating: ★★★★★
Review: I loved this book. Zoey Redbird is one of the most courageous characters in any books I've read yet. I love her personality so much. I love the way the author writes this book. I love how she adds Stevie Rae into the story and how we know what Stevie is feeling. I found myself falling for Erik at first, and then not so much. He is possessive and not the greatest. I like the other guys, but not quite as much. This book was amazing!!!!

We got to bed at 2:30am all in the same bed. My husbands preferred way to sleep (NOT), but my 11yr old daughter was more scared than the 9 and 7 yr old boys,
Anyway it wasn’t comfortable sleep for me but they seem rested.
We are about to go to the State of Texas Fair and eat funnel cakes and corny dogs. I’m quite excited.
Last year, I had fried alligator and fried peaches & cream, it was awesome.
My least favorite last year was the Krispie Kreme Cheeseburger and fried margarita. First was too sweet and salty, too much for my palate. The latter ~ margaritas should never be warm/hot. It should be cold with sugar on the rim of the glass.
I look forward to trying new foods this year.

I shared my other group so I will share with y’all too. My kids put up the tent in the family room (living room) and they are sleeping there all 3 while we get our bed back. Little scaredy-cats.
Texas Fair New foods:
1) Cotton Candy Taco ~ tastes like ass 😂. Okay, it’s a seasoned taco shell with cotton candy in the middle. It wasn’t that bad but the idea of it annoys me
2) Deep fried shepherds pie ~ tastes like ass. Okay, I don’t care for shepherds pie so I was biased against it from the start
3) Deep fried Twinkie ~ tastes like ass. Okay, you got me. I don’t like Twinkies and deep fried just added to it’s unhealthiness.
4) Fried butter ~ tastes like a mouth full of melted butter once you bite into the breading. WTH?? Who thinks up this stuff?
5) Fried kool-aid soaked pickles. I didn’t try it. Sounds like it tastes like ass. My kids liked it. But then again my son ordered a pickle juice slushee and it taste like iced pickle juice 🙄🙄🙄.
Funnel cake with strawberry ✅
Corny dog ✅
Jerked & Cajun fried Turkey leg: THE BEST THING I ever ate next to the Fried peaches and cream (tastes like peach cobbler).
The turkey leg was made by some couple that used to live in Louisiana and moved to Texas during the Hurricane Katrina evacuation. So instead of the regular turkey legs, they used jerk seasoning and Cajun seasoning to make their Turkey leg. YUMMY 😋
My arteries are clogged and But I palate cleansed with a bottle of moscato when my kids went to “camp”/bed a few hours ago

Review:
I first read this book in 2014 and I gave it 5 stars. I'm giving it 4 stars this time, but I'll leave my original rating. I listened to this, narrated by Shannon Gunn. I liked the narration. (Is that the correct way to word that?)
I enjoyed the mystery, I liked the characters. I really dislike reading or listening to BDSM. It's completely unfair to rate something based on my personal dislikes, so my rating just excludes all the BDSM scenes.
I found a few plot points confusing. As best I can tell, these guys were 9 and 14 when they last met. I don't understand all the angst now that they are adults. If they had been 19 and 24...I understand that, but 9 and 14 is simply too young.
Also, Finn's Aunt ... I'm pretty sure she is Finn's mother's sister. Finn's mother would have been 39...so how old could this sister be? She was portrayed as a fairly old woman.

Review: The author does a pretty good job of portraying Jane Austen, her life, her family, and her viewpoints in this series. She uses the right type of terminology and phrasing to replicate Austen's writing. The mystery was a bit too drawn out, in my opinion. And I thought the author kept wandering away from the storyline with insignificant details of Austen's life. The footnotes are interesting.

I also take my family to the Taste of Dallas or the Taste of Chicago if I’m in town during that time

I love this series and this book was a treat as we got to see it all from Dmitri's POV. At first I wasn't happy that Elena & Raphael were not the MCs, but we get to see Dmitri's past and what made him the way he is. Dmitri is a hard-ass, very old, vampire and is also Raphael's Second. Honor is an amazing and strong woman who is trying to find herself again after surviving imprisonment and being used as a blood/sex/torture toy at the amusement of vampires. I saw the twist at the end coming long before I got there but I still found it sweet. Even the most dangerous is not immune to love.

Qualification: #4 on the Bridgerton Series

I enjoyed this one, THE mystery was finally solved...and I was wrong but that's cool. I enjoyed the reveal of that sassy Lady Whistledown!

I knew from the last book that Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington would be the couple. It was just a matter of how the two oblivious people would see what was right in front of them.
I was wrong. Penelope knew all along, Colin was the dumb one that didn't really "see" Penelope until later. The good thing is that they developed a good friendship and had easy rapport. That is always a great foundation for a lasting relationship.
Both Colin and Penelope were so much more than those around them knew. They hid their true talents, ambitions and desires, only revealing it to each other in bits and pieces.
I continue to enjoy this series.

So during her Oscar performance of the Oscar nominated song “Let It Go” from Frozen, John Travolta was the person who introduced Idina Menzel who sang the song.
However John Travolta didn’t go to rehearsals so he didn’t know how to pronounce her name. At the Oscars, he said “introducing the great Adele Dazim” completely butchering Idina Menzel’s name. It was a huge joke afterwards.
At the concert, Idina has a shirt that had a crossed out “Adele Dazim”.

Review: I can’t believe that Aphrodite lost her mark after she healed Stevie. I like how Zoey is getting tattoos/marks every time that she does a good deed. I like how Stark comes and how he is introduced to their little group. I like how he can shoot and never miss. I hate how Stark, Heath, and Erik are all competing for Zoey. I like Stark pretty well, and Erik is pretty cool. I like Heath a little better than Erik, but I hate how they are always fighting over her. I hate how Kalona comes and how Neferet doesn’t care about everyone knowing about her fledglings. I don’t like Kalona at all, and I hate how he is so cute and how it affects everyone.
