ABANDONED. YA (I believe) Set in English Seaside Town. Main character, a teenaged punk and a lonely old woman with a small dog

I read this book in the mid 1980s at school and I remember vaguely the title of this book being something along the lines of "Out of Season" as it described both the seaside town and the lonely, elderly lady. There is an interaction that brings the teenaged punk and the elderly lady together around an event with her small dog (I do not want to give away the plot and say what it was). Does this ring a bell for anyone?

I did a search of Goodreads for books with the title Out Of Season, and this one by Barbara Gamble seems similar to your description: Out Of Season

Description:
