I had this pulled for espionage last month, but never got to it-so glad it fit the bill for friendship!
This is a well written story about a friendship forged during WWII. Maddie a common English girl and Julie a Scottish aristocrat. Both girls doing their "bit" for the war effort. One is a pilot, the other a spy. So many of you have already read and reviewed, I don't think I need to tell much more than that.
This is what resonated for me: That awful circumstances can bond the oddest couples-and sometimes friendship that stand the tests of time and trouble.
It was a good book, not a great one, but worth the read
