Initial Thoughts
"People believed what he wanted them to believe- or else" (Marrin,5). I found it significant because after Stalin seized power, he did what he pleased and imposed himself on the Russians. It was for the better and the worse because he industrialized quickly, making USSR a superpower, but he killed many dissidents in his empire. I want to know more about how he developed.

To program is to translate between the chaos of human life and the line-by-line world of computer language". I find this quote interesting because she mentions that only a few people can understand the coding languages. I interpreted it as only a small group prefers coding languages and I am one of those people. While language is often arbitrary, coding is an algorithm that is defined by it's precision and does ONLY what it is designed to do. No guessing, no art, just math

I just finished chapter three of "I am Malala" and I find it very interesting learning about her life and all that she did before she became such an active part of education reform.

Neil Patrick Harris is a very funny person. His autobiography is set up in the style of a Choose Your Own Adventure book. He adds humor in every paragraph with sentences like, “Your brother, Brian Christopher Harris, is three years older than you at the time of your birth and, as it turns out, will remain so throughout your life.” When he could’ve just said he had a brother older than him by three years, he makes it funny and more fun to read.

Middlesex is a very interesting story so far. I am 8 pages in and the story has already become intense. Her story is both riveting and interesting.

"After the first day he had no curiosity at all. To break the monotony he invented games." This quote from the book show how apathetic he is and how far his is willing to go to avoid doing work seriously. This also shows how he is not a serious person and refuses to take things in a mature manner.

Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman is pretty good so far. The main character is funny and relateable and it’s quite a contrast from the simple, easy to digest Netflix show.“I was a well-educated young lady with a thirst for bohemian counterculture and no clear plan.” (Pg. 5)
I also believe that great accomplishments can only be achieved through teamwork with a group of people.
Without a purpose there is no reason to continue putting effort into something.
