I have just managed to sneak in my second book The Emperor's Soul which was really good. I will go report now but I might be a while with my lyrics this time around as I don't know what song to use.

I actually finished my book about an hour ago, but soooo caught up in everyone's reporting threads, that I forgot to announce it.I will be reporting later.

Funny how in your context, not actually knowing what the phrase was, we did actually know what you meant!☻
Well, the time for reading is over, but you've still got 24 hours to write and submit your song.It looks like we have some hidden talent in the group, but don't worry, I won't make writing something a regular requirement :)
Thanks for another great toppler, j'mom. This one was more relaxing for you, I think. Music does have a soothing effect, doesn't it?

Already on it!☺☻☺

Really fun. Thanks for sharing it. (I think I'll go share it too.)
Thanks J'mom for another creative toppler. And it was very creative for all of us. I had great fun! It's was good to listen to the songs that everyone picked on YouTube and then again with the revised lyrics in front of me (or in the cases of those who recorded their songs, watched their videos). Very entertaining! It's the first time I've managed two books in a 24 hour toppler before, although I did choose two short books.
Bet some of you thought I'd fallen off the face of the earth. I was so involved with trying to keep our cats from stressing over the kitten we found, and the owner didn't get her until after 5pm last night. I DID read one book, Scary Stories and have some lyrics worked out to You Can Leave Your Hat On. I like the Tom Jones version best, from The Full Monty, but can't find a decent video of it. Here's the Joe Cocker version with scenes from 9 1/2 weeks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfgwrd... .
Glad you got the kitty cats (all of them) sorted Debra. So do we all have a suitable amount of earworms going on now? I know I have!

Hope you kitties have calmed down now.

I'm glad it all worked out. I'm looking forward to your song. "You can leave the lights on"?

I do as well! I'll be howling soon. :)

I found that video of Tom Jones, but it's a boring one. But I do like his voice for the song the best.
Our kitties are now acting as if nothing ever happened; as if their lives weren't turned upside down yesterday. I'm just hoping the folks that have little Casey are a good family for her. I worry about stuff like that, and she's a little darling.

Yeah, but where is The Full Monty?

Yesterday was a big festival my side of the world and I came down with the flu, so have been AWOL. I managed to finish 2 A.M. at The Cat's Pajamas, coming up with a song is a different matter.I will look up your link, JMom and get to it. Singing might be a problem though, my voice is almost gone. :/
Looking forward to hearing everyone's songs.
Pragya - How did you like the book? I'm almost done with it, not quite what I expected, but I'm enjoying it very much.
I have mixed feelings, Jmom. I am a bit confused with the ending. I liked it for the most part. Love how the author kept bringing in characters and how they link up in each other's lives and paths.
Well, I very badly failed. I'm not having a good track record with these 24 hour ones this year. December is my time to redeem myself!

I learned not to stay up until 3am the day before a toppler starts 'cuz I could not stay awake and read my book after my sewing project was finally finished.

Call everyone and let them know you will be unavailable; don't need the poilce to come calling.
Cover your windows with aluminum foil or blackout drapes; don't give away your presence.
Don’t answer the telephone, remember “Emergency Use Only”, such as pizza delivery
Don’t answer the door bell, except for the pizza guy and Meals-On-Wheels.

We're going to have to do this Toppler again. Soon. I am still looking at book titles and thinking, 'That would make a good song title. I wonder what type of music would best suit it?'.
Lanelle wrote: "We're going to have to do this Toppler again. Soon. I am still looking at book titles and thinking, 'That would make a good song title. I wonder what type of music would best suit it?'."I find myself singing my summary of books, starting with their titles. I sing to my dogs, who don't seem to mind :)
LOL! I sing to my parrots all of the time. One of them kind of sings back when he feels like it. Not in words, just notes. I have been singing Waltzing Matilda to him for years. He probably sings all day, when I am not there, who knows. He says good night when I turn out the lights, but he will not say it until I am in the hallway. If I stand in the kitchen door way - waiting, he will NOT talk. I was singing about "leaving Kingston town" (I cannot think of the title now - maybe On My Way) the other morning and was wondering what book title it could go with, so I am still thinking of the toppler theme too.
I sing to the birds all the time. I just change the words to their names and what they do.If this toppler was about making a song about chickens and ducks, I would have kicked it's butt.
Toppler withdrawals are the worst thing! I too have been thinking of songs for books. I just bought Firestarter and instantly thought "wow! I wouldn't need to think much to find a song for that book! One all ready and waiting for it".I think it would be cool to do a toppler all about pets. So many of us in this group adore animals and have a wide variety of the critters. We could look at each of the different character traits of different animals which would link to something in a book. e.g. Dogs are loyal so read a book which features loyalty of some kind.

Yeah, you wouldn't even have to change any of the words either: "Chicks and ducks and geese better scurry/ when I take you out in the Fury" :0)
The theme song to Ducktales gets a good workout in my backyard too.The neighbours must think we are mad.

I believe you! Oh, wait, you would have had to finish a book first :) please make a song anyway and sing it for us!!!
