Tough pick here... really most of the time what I read, depends on my mood. In general, it's slow love or enemies to lovers...I just love the 🔥 between the lovers!!! What I absolutely hate is insta-love. Otherwise, I'm okay with anything.

My favourites are arranged marriage/staged relationship- also older man younger woman. One i really want to read is a good online r/ship book- I cant seem to find a good one
I’m pretty twisted, so my favorite is a little something I call horrotica, which I’m pretty sure none of you write. Lol! So I’ll say enemies to lovers and taboo relationships. Oh, and aliens. :)
I'm a sucker for best friends to lovers because I feel like my life relates to it. Also love enemies to lovers! Not sure if this is a troupe but introvert girl/cocky/confident guy too!
it's really hard to say for me. its more of what my mood is at the time. i do always come back to the fighters
Enemies to lovers is my favorite! Friends to lovers, forbidden/taboo relationships, single-dads, and so much more. These are just the ones that I will definitely grab no questions asked.
I love famous celebrity romances. Just finished listening to Sweet Cheeks by K. Bromberg, loved it. Love the entire Stage Dive Series by Kylie Scott, have read them once, listened to them all at least once.
It is hard to just pick one. I love them all but not really a big fan of virgin stories. I love MMA, MC, sports, friends to lovers, MMF, MFM, and the list goes on.
I tend to lean towards second chance and enemy to lovers. I love a really intense and angsty sob story as well as dark taboo romances, but I have to balance it out with Romantic Comedies occasionally.
I am a sucker for Big-Brothers-Best-Friend Romace. But I appreciate a good enemy's to lover's, secret baby or accidentally pregnant or arranged/forced marriage books.
Any chance someone could come up with some new ones? I'm really tired of MC, mafia, and billionaire stuff. Why do they all have to be billionaires? Can't they just be "wealthy"? Alien stuff doesn't do much for me either, especially when there is actual pregnancy resulting from the relationship as that would be impossible because the DNA wouldn't be compatible. Also, the "science" in this supposed "science fiction" is pretty much nonsense for anyone who's read actual science fiction, as opposed to the erotica trope version. And I just don't do paranormal. All the vampire stuff just doesn't do it for me.I like dark stuff when it occurs without criminal activity by the main characters. I'm not terribly picky about most other stuff.
Cannot pick one...I’m open to all. The main thing is that the characters are realistic (not perfect) but unique! I do like second chance romances and friends to lovers themes but I’m definitely open to any other modern romance themes.
Greyling54, how about suspense-type? Like "someone is trying to kill heroine, and hero steps up to help" (but it's a partnership, not a damsel-in-distress-rescue.) Or "less than perfect hero's past catches up to him, endangering his new love." Or "childhood friends are kidnapped by sex traders, and must escape together."I *may* (cough) know someone who has written a trio of books with similar tropes.

Or "less than perfect hero's past..."I enjoy suspense when it's well done. I don't mind "less than perfect" heroes as long as they're reformed. I've read some of those types before. What matters is overall originality or particularly good execution, I just get tired of seeing the number of books with "billionaire" in the title or when it's clear the "hero" has nothing at all heroic about him. He just happens to want the girl.
My favourite enemies to lover and arrange marriages. I love romance with comedy. And if there are kids in the mix then I'm all for it. Emma chase, Elle Kennedy, Mariana Zapata are some of my favourite authors.
I love nerdy girl falls for the jock/popular guy. My ultimate guilty pleasure. Love a good sports romance too.
Enemies to lovers, and I love when the MC doesn't end up with the first guy she meets! Also arranged Marriage... They're all so good!
I suppose it's probably Alpha Males in suits. Those crisp, white dress shirts are just begging to be messed with.
The more angsty the better...Lately, I have been loving Naughty Teachers!!! Female teacher/male student.
My favorites
&
❤❤
Rockstars, second chances, younger sister and big brothers best friend, fire fighters, and mostly...damaged, sexy race car drivers *wink*
Probably best friends to lovers or enemy to lovers. It honestly depends on my mood. I teach so I have a hard time with teacher/student.
I absolutely adore secret baby romance with Second chance romance together......another favorite it enemies to lovers and I also adore single parent romance.
I'm engaged to my older brother's best friend... so that's a trope I clearly enjoy. ;-) I really like best friends to lovers as well. And of course I'm a sucker for the biggest trope of them all: manwhore (often with a troubled past) falls in love for the first time. Sigh... Colton Donovan <3
I think I'm one of the few that doesn't like second chance romances. For me, half the fun is that initially falling in love, and when they've already been in love in the past, I feel duped. Although if written well enough, you can sometimes still get those past stories in flashbacks. So I don't hate this trope, and I definitely read it, but it's just not my go to. Same with single parents... because I just can't relate being someone with no interest in having kids. Hahaha!
Second Chance is something I've always enjoyed. The characters already know each other (or at least to an extent, depending on the story). And this usually gets a familiar banter going. I like seeing past issues resolve in these books.I'm also a sucker for holiday books (especially when I find non-Christmas books, to keep things fresh). These usually lead to the two MCs stuck together in a snow storm or in some other forces situation in the winter. I love winter and books like this. It's a win-win.
I love to read just about everything. Anything with a good hate to love story. Not a fan of triangle story line. Some reason I like when the Hero is a total jerk (for good reason). And the girl is strong willed. Really a good story keeps me going
I have so many tropes I love! Off the top of my head...second chance romances, enemy to lovers, arranged marriages, best friend's brother, and falling for the boss/mentor!I think the only trope I am wary of is the 'rock star' falling for a 'nobody' because I have read too many bad ones.
As long as the characters are well written and the story is engaging it doesn't really matter!
Def the enemies-to-lovers trope is a one click for me. But, my real "guilty pleasure" would be total alpha-holes. The kind of guys you hate to love because they are such absolute jerks. But, you soooo love them. Please no virgins (IMO, it's overdone), please no surprise babies (a surprise pregnancy makes me want to scream "BIRTH CONTROL"), I'm not even particularly fond of kids being in the picture at all, so single mom/dad trope isn't something I gravitate to. I prefer the MCs not to be tied down... it IS fiction after all.
I would have to say enemies to lovers, I'm a sucker for any story where the leading lady gives her leading man a hard time ;) especially when they are pared up for a wedding...aaah just love it!
enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, second chance. i love when the dynamics between the main characters is almost volatile it's so intense
I love witty bantering and when they have a history so it gets very angsty. I like it when I can really feel the same feelings as the characters when reading.I also like strong, smart and quirky heroines. I like a tomboy heroine with a non typical female occupation.
So naturally I love enemies to lovers, best friends to lovers, tomboy, best friends brother and in love with the boss.
I really dislike suprise pregnancies, perfect heroines and insta love stories. I want the story to be longer so I have time to get to know the characters.
