One i really want to read is a good online r/ship book- I cant seem to find a good one

But I appreciate a good enemy's to lover's, secret baby or accidentally pregnant or arranged/forced marriage books.

I like dark stuff when it occurs without criminal activity by the main characters. I'm not terribly picky about most other stuff.

I *may* (cough) know someone who has written a trio of books with similar tropes.

I enjoy suspense when it's well done. I don't mind "less than perfect" heroes as long as they're reformed. I've read some of those types before. What matters is overall originality or particularly good execution, I just get tired of seeing the number of books with "billionaire" in the title or when it's clear the "hero" has nothing at all heroic about him. He just happens to want the girl.

Enemies to lovers, and I love when the MC doesn't end up with the first guy she meets! Also arranged Marriage... They're all so good!

Lately, I have been loving Naughty Teachers!!! Female teacher/male student.
My favorites

I really like best friends to lovers as well. And of course I'm a sucker for the biggest trope of them all: manwhore (often with a troubled past) falls in love for the first time. Sigh... Colton Donovan <3
I think I'm one of the few that doesn't like second chance romances. For me, half the fun is that initially falling in love, and when they've already been in love in the past, I feel duped. Although if written well enough, you can sometimes still get those past stories in flashbacks. So I don't hate this trope, and I definitely read it, but it's just not my go to. Same with single parents... because I just can't relate being someone with no interest in having kids. Hahaha!

I'm also a sucker for holiday books (especially when I find non-Christmas books, to keep things fresh). These usually lead to the two MCs stuck together in a snow storm or in some other forces situation in the winter. I love winter and books like this. It's a win-win.

I think the only trope I am wary of is the 'rock star' falling for a 'nobody' because I have read too many bad ones.
As long as the characters are well written and the story is engaging it doesn't really matter!

Please no virgins (IMO, it's overdone), please no surprise babies (a surprise pregnancy makes me want to scream "BIRTH CONTROL"), I'm not even particularly fond of kids being in the picture at all, so single mom/dad trope isn't something I gravitate to. I prefer the MCs not to be tied down... it IS fiction after all.

I also like strong, smart and quirky heroines. I like a tomboy heroine with a non typical female occupation.
So naturally I love enemies to lovers, best friends to lovers, tomboy, best friends brother and in love with the boss.
I really dislike suprise pregnancies, perfect heroines and insta love stories. I want the story to be longer so I have time to get to know the characters.
