It's funny but when I was reading the book, the character of Sheldon never crossed my mind. I can certainly see why people would think of Sheldon but I thought Don was a more stable character than Sheldon. I find Sheldon to be sort of frantic at times, but Don seemed calm and methodical to me. Either way, they are both funny characters but I think Don is his own guy.
I don't watch much of Big Bang so that could account for the fact that I didn't immediatley think that Don as being like Sheldon. I think he is uniquely his own person - not as disdainful for sure.
Before I even read the book someone mentioned the Sheldon/Don similarities so I immediately pictured Jim Parsons. However, I've watched the show and Don is not Sheldon! I understand the comical parts of the book lend to a Sheldon character but Don is more handsome and rugged.
Did you see this or did you think Don had his own style?
