So the beginning of the book was a little cheesy, but I think now that we are getting going, it will get better. I hope.
Ch 16 - (view spoiler)[ Yikes, the Gloom is just as scary a place as the forest was. I am starting to wonder how she is going to fit into this world and not just get killed easily. I don't think being a love interest is going to be enough. Will she have some special magic that they haven't discovered yet? Will she be the daughter of some fae queen and concealed by magic to appear human or something? (hide spoiler)]

Finished - strange place to end the story. It's not exactly a cliffhanger, and they are (view spoiler)[ right in the middle of their trip to the capital. Weird place to end the book from a plot standpoint. I suppose we are supposed to feel "blue balls" from what was just happening with her and Tye, enough to rush to the next book to find out?? I don't know, I'm not feeling that. (hide spoiler)]

I guess as far as first books in a series goes, it's ok. Now that the world building is complete and we know enough about the characters, hopefully, we can get something happening with the plot. I'm a little surprised that this book was so superficial. I've read another series by Alex Lidell, and the character and plot development were much better. Ah well, I'm ready to read #2 to see if it gets better.
