Sarah (sjohnson33071) | 14 comments My main goal of reading a mystery / thriller is to be surprised at the end and have lots of little “aha” bits that click into place. I usually can figure out who the “bad guy” is early while reading and I very quickly lose interest afterward. When I’m correct, I am disappointed and usually won’t read the author again. I’d love if a few books could be pointed my way for this.

Some examples of books I’ve really loved that meet the above criteria:

Gone Girl
Grist Mill Road
The Wife Between Us (looooved this!)
Jar of Hearts

Sarah (sjohnson33071) | 14 comments I also liked Big Little Lies and The Dry (although I really liked The Dry more for the incredible setting and characters.)

Kaveri BibliophileRants (bibliophilerants) Would suggest The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides if you are into psychological thrillers.
