It’s time to nominate for our October readalong! Our theme is: UNDER HYPED!

This theme can be a little tricky to define. There was the Under-Hyped Read-a-thon held recently, and I'll borrow their idea of choosing books with under 5,000 ratings on Goodreads. -THIS ISN'T STRICT- If you have a book which you believe is under-hyped ie. more so in BookTube, but it's a little over 5,000 ratings, then feel free to nominate! This is more of a guideline :)

I will be updating this post with your suggestions as they come in.

I also have a quite note about how I’ll organise the poll this month, which you can read here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Annabelle (tempestscorner) Doon (Doon, #1) by Carey Corp
Pulse (Pulse, #1) by Patrick Carman

Really want to read both and both have well under 5,000 ratings.

Wil | 56 comments True Fire by Gary Meehan it's only on book depository...

message 6: by Ashley (new)

message 7: by Kaojoua (new)

Kaojoua (juniebooks) I don't know if I'm allowed to do this, but I have 3 nominations. These are books from my most favorites series, and I feel they are under-hyped, but that may be because they're a little older.

-The Merchant of Death (Pendragon #1) by D.J. MacHale
-The Naming (Pellinor #1) by Alison Croggon
-Daughter of the Forest (Sevenwaters Trilogy) by Juliet Marillier

Victoria (vmartynko) | 52 comments Or Doon by carey corp

message 9: by Ivaiah (new)

Ivaiah Rose (ivmcan) Out Of Reach by Carrie Arcos is one of my personal favorites. It's a contemporary that deals with more than a teen romance. I think it's brilliant and horrifically underrated!

message 10: by Amber (new)

Amber The Fever by Megan Abbott The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey Heap House by Edward Carey .

I haven't read any of these but they're all on my TBR and I don't see people talk about them very often.

message 11: by Haroon (new)

Haroon Dorothy Must Die has 7000 reviews, but I don't see it talked about a lot.
Monument 14- It has 9000 reviews but I hardly see anyone talk about it.
In the After by Demitria Lunetta only has 4,774 ratings, it sounds quite interesting.

message 12: by Randa (new)

Randa Books that are newer releases shouldn't be nominated, they have under 5000 rating because they just came out.

message 13: by Wil (new)

Wil | 56 comments Randa why do you think they shouldn't be suggested I personally would love to read them I get your point though but maybe they wouldn't be picked up otherwise

These Violent Delights (Robin) Tigers Curse!

Quinn (missquinny) | 31 comments Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8...
This series is fantastic and doesn't get the love it deserves

message 25: by Allie (new)

Allie (captiveheart) | 58 comments Anything Jasper Fforde? Specifically Shades of Grey as it now has a bad rep purely because of fanfiction being published with a similar name. Super under hyped for such an amazing world!!

message 26: by Kirsten (last edited Aug 08, 2014 03:17AM) (new)

Kirsten (kielianne) | 40 comments Sea of Shadows (Age of Legends, #1) by Kelley Armstrong or Once Every Never (Never, #1) by Lesley Livingston

Linda (kikipower123) | 2 comments SYLO

SYLO by D.J. MacHale is a great, fast-paced sci-fi YA novel that hasn't had much hype.

message 31: by Lorna (new)

Lorna Satchwell I nominate "Under the paw confessions of a cat man" only 800 people have rated it. It's on my TBR list.

Lorna Satchwell Randa wrote: "Books that are newer releases shouldn't be nominated, they have under 5000 rating because they just came out."

I totally agree!

message 33: by Lorna (new)

Lorna Satchwell Under the Paw: Confessions of a Cat Man

This is on my TBR, plus it just seems like an interesting book! How often do you meet a single guy with a bunch of cats?? Pretty strange and interesting to me! Less than 800 people have read and rated this book.

message 34: by Lorna (new)

Lorna Satchwell Amber wrote: "The Fever by Megan Abbott The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. CareyHeap House by Edward Carey.

Maybe because they just been released!?!? 5,000 people aren't going to buy, read, and rate a book in one month unless they are apart of the same cult.

message 35: by Johanna (last edited Aug 08, 2014 04:43AM) (new)

Johanna (nokiddingbrainless) | 4 comments Broken Soup
Broken Soup by Jenny Valentine! Only 1,772 ratings and it's soooo good! Seriously, I've made it my life's mission to make Booktube read this book!

Lily I'm for In the After or Tiger's Curse

message 37: by Ciarán (new)

Ciarán | 1 comments Raven's Gate (The Gatekeepers, #1) by Anthony Horowitz This book is amazing but not many people talk about it

message 38: by Natalie (new)

Natalie Tiger's Curse or Doon is a definite for me since I already own Tiger's Curse and I want to read Doon.

message 39: by Amber (new)

Amber Lorna wrote: "Amber wrote: "The Fever by Megan Abbott The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. CareyHeap House by Edward Carey.

No need to be rude. I honestly didn't realize two of them were new releases. I just sorted my TBR by read count and went with a few that looked the most interesting to me.

message 40: by ashley (new)

ashley | 14 comments I have wanted to read Doon for ages now!!

message 41: by BookNerdTori (last edited Aug 08, 2014 08:36AM) (new)

BookNerdTori I just bought Tiger's curse so, I'm going to be bias. I've wanted to read it for ages! Tiger's Curse! and if I had to pick another one it'd be Doom.

message 42: by Char (new)

Char (jumpingovermountains) Havemercy (Havemercy #1) by Jaida Jones is my very favourite book (other than Harry Potter) and I'd love it if more people read it!
It might be useful to note that The Naming by Alison Croggon (also a great book) is known as The Gift in the UK, and Australia too according to Wikipedia.
