Did anyone else guess that Cinder was...(SPOILERS!)

Princess Selene? I guessed it like as soon as I found out she was Lunar; did anyone else guess this too before it was revealed in the ending?

When it was saying that traces of Selene's flesh in the fire. And guess who's missing a few of her body parts?
I had noooo clue, lol. Towards the end when it was revealed, I felt dumb like I should have actually seen something like that coming or expected it.

I kinda predicted almost everythingever since the first time they said that Princess Selene may still be alive I predicted it as Cinder. I also predicted that she may have this hidden power despite the doctor telling her that she might not have one. I also predicted the doctor might be a lunar to know so much about it and hiding it to the prince.
I found it predictable from the first mention of Selene's apparent death as well because of the lack of a whole body. But even though predictable, it was a thoroughly enjoyable read!

Yes, it was way too predictable.
i'm with you - i think that it became pretty obvious when we learned that she was 'adopted' for lack of a better word and that she was being hidden. I like where the story is going for her, and i'm interested to see what will happen when everyone learns that she's alive - v. just the queen knowing it.
Yeah I knew from the first time Selene was introduced into the story that Cinder would be her and was also Lunar.
Well, duh, it was obvious from the moment the subject was brought up.1)Princess Selene was just about the same age as Cinder.
2)Princess Selene (if she hadn't survived) wouldn't have all of her body parts (cyborg Cinder).
3)Cinder seems like just the sort of person who wouldn't be a princess and EVERYONE would be shocked to hear she was. I know that doesn't make any sense, but all authors do it.
Really once you think about it, it all makes sense.

So true.
Also, Cinder is loosely based on Cinderella, which is the stereotypical "rags to riches" story. While people probably thought Cinder and Kai would end up together, Cinder being a princess herself makes a whole lot of sense, too.
Yeh it was very predictable but I loved how Marissa Meyer had developed it.

I never looked at it that way, I always knew that it was a fairy tale retelling so for the most part the story was going to be predictable because I knew the original story and it was futuristic sooo... idk

Anyhoo, I agree with you all. It was predictable, but it doesn't detract much from my enjoyment. It's an entertaining story with great characters. Doesn't blow my mind, but keeps me invested.
Yes.Cinder is a re telling of Cinderella so of course Cinder would be a princess.Scarlet is a retelling of Red Riding Hood and Cress is of Rapunzel and Winter is going to be of Snow White.
When they first mentioned Princess Selene i was like its Cinder and i was right so it wasn't much of a surprise.

I believe I caught on that she was a Lunar pretty early on in the book and then everything kind of fell into place for me. By the time the big reveal happened, I was already way ahead. Lol.
It was obvious. If there is something i'm good at, its predicting.
yes i did, as soon as they mentioned her three times or so i knew she wasn't dead and she was going to play a part in the book. and who else would be better for her to be! she was also the only good female character at the time and that also told me it was her.
It was all too obvious but that doesn't make the book any less good!!!!!!!!
Yes! She didn't remember anything before she becoming a cyborg so I had a feeling that she was a lunar and Princess Selene, and when Cinder fixed Nainsi and Nainsi confirmed that the Princess was alive, it wasn't just a feeling I knew it was Cinder. I was still very happy that it was in fact Cinder but not a shocker, I still love the book even if it is obvious.
There really wasn't much obfuscation for Selene/Cinder's identity. Kinda disappointed in how the book tried to make it this big mystery when there really wasn't anyone else it was likely to be.

Yeah I kind of guessed since they kept foreshadowing it by mentioning lunars and the princess alot + they dont cover her past properly etc :/

Lol, good point. I was just reading the "Snow Queen" to my little sister the other day and was like, lol, his name is Kai (gosh, I need to buy Cress!)

It's was obvious once they said that Selena's body was never found and mentioned how some parents take their children to earth ,but I still love this story no matter how much for shadowing it does
Yeah I guessed it, but it was still a great book.
I didn't think it was supposed to be that big of a surprise, seeing as it's based on a well known fairy tale...The book was great though.

It was pretty obvious right from when they said there was a missing princess.
