Benjamin From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler is quite the adventure. While reading the synopsis or even the book itself, the book may not seem like a very adventurous story, considering the two protagonists are children. However, the fact that the two main protagonists are children is what makes the book an adventure. The fact that these two children are running around the city aimlessly, just trying to survive makes the story something beyond an adventure. It's more than an adventure, it's survival. Nothing in this book is spelled out for you, so you are given the ability to make your own assumptions on what's going on, what will happen, or even how the story will end. Whenever the children learn something new, they get smarter. And so do we. From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler is a story about an adventure. I think adventurous readers will enjoy this type of book.
