YA novel where girl gets tutored by the science geek who's always wearing a lab coat

I'm looking for a YA novel I read around 2015 or 2016. This high school girl gets tutored by an outcast science geek who's always wearing a lab coat. From what I remember, it was his father's lab coat. The geek is super smart so he gets his own little room at school. I think they also did an experiment with chocolate or skittles. It's a very fun, lighthearted story. Thanks!

Zoe, I read something like that some while ago on Chapters (it's a interactive stories game) and this story was named as "Skittles & Science". Google showed it as Skittles and Science by Zephyr Everly.
