Spent some time looking for this. From what I remember this is a three book series, not the same authors, but on the cover does list someone who I would assume is the creator of the series
The each book in the series is about a new group of children/teens who are sent to the future to help a species solve an issue they are having. This species in the future have taken away violence which is why they request children from the past, because only children can be sent to the future using their machine.
I don't remember much more. Just that I had read it in the past, sometime in the mid/late 90s.
