message 3: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (readingwithmanda) I will read this book with you guys, I have the bind-up of these and haven't gotten around to them yet and I need to. :)

message 4: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (readingwithmanda) Yes I have the bind-up of Thirst No. 1 and 4. I like the bind-up's of them and found them for cheap so I got them but we will be reading the first book in it.

message 5: by Caroline (new)

Caroline I've never done a buddy read. Can someone explain it to me please. The library has the book so I think I will take a little trip out right now. Need to get out of the house anyway, been reading all morning.

They are really fun!
Typically, the day before of the day of the buddy read, we will talk about how much we are reading and when we'll come back
then we'll come back after that amount of reading and mark comments - hidden with the spoiler tag - and chat about the book as we go.

BUT - it's our buddy read
so we can all decide on how we read it. it's just a fun place to chat about a book with everyone :)

here's a thread with examples:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I hope that makes sense. let me know if you have questions :)

message 7: by Caroline (new)

Caroline So it would be better to wait and read the book starting in September or should I go ahead and read it now since my library has a copy?

I love chatting about books and I am so in need of a good action/romance.

message 8: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new) - rated it 1 star

Trisha | 30284 comments well...I guess it's up to you.
Sadie, Amanda, and I won't be reading it until September...so we wouldn't be ready to chat until then

if you look under "buddy reads: in progress" you can see books people are reading right now
or you could always post in the "find a reading buddy" thread and see if anyone is ready to read a book you have now :)

message 9: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Oh no, I can wait. I just didn't know how much we needed to have read when the reading started. I'm not a super fast reader.

message 10: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (readingwithmanda) The date above is the date we all plan on starting the book and discussing it as we read it. I'm not a super fast reader either so don't worry everyone reads at there own pace so don't feel bad if someone finishes before you. We all decide when it comes closer to the date on how much we will read each day.

message 11: by Caroline (new)

Caroline Thanks so much for helping me. I look forward to reading and chatting.

message 12: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new) - rated it 1 star

Trisha | 30284 comments ready for this one tomorrow??
I've seen some recent ratings and it's making me nervous! I hope we love this one!!

message 13: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new) - rated it 1 star

Trisha | 30284 comments wow, it's only about 200 pages
but 5 chapters is almost half way (90 pages or so...)

I guess we'll see - but maybe we can come back every 3 chapters or so? that way we come back a few times?

I have a few to finish first, then I'll start! can't wait!

message 14: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (readingwithmanda) This weekend I have off from work so I will read this book with you guys. :)

Amanda (readingwithmanda) That's totally okay I haven't read anymore of the book since I just got a job and work 8 hours like everyday this week so I haven't read anymore of it. Been a crazy week of working for me.
