ABANDONED. Early 80s Sci Fi Book includes reincarnation

Hi everyone -

I am looking for a book that I think was published in the early 80s. It was a science fiction paperback when I first read it. Unfortunately, I can only remember snippets of the book and not enough detail to remember the title or author.

Synopsis: A starship captain or fleet commander is a reincarnated warrior and throughout his incarnations, he is in love with one woman who always shows up throughout time. This time, somehow he ends up with three triplet sisters, one of whom is his forever love. I want to say that he is called the dragon or something like that.

The paperback cover I remember is the Captain and his love dancing on the bridge of the ship. He is dipping her backwards.
