My rates are pretty reasonable, compared to a lot of editors out there. I don't charge by the word, instead I usually charge by the page. It has to be a completed story, no partial cuts.
$3/pg for full-length novels 40k words+ $3.50/pg for anything under 40k words
And of course, if pricing is an issue, I always try to work out a payment system. For instance, breaking payment into 2-3 portions.
