You do know that even if you have different editions posted, you have to match our posting time since beater can't read shorter book than chaser?

And with that and by this post your time as reserve beater expires before you can post book as finished.

If you are staying as reserve beater, please post that.

Tea, my understanding was that the replacement times were for a minimum of 24 hours so Suzanne can finish and switch out after that...

Without getting into the timings of Suzanne's role, the mechanics of reading diff edition of same book were discussed in Huffs last match, I think, and we were told that if it was the same book then we could use the specific edition time, even if it was shorter than the Chaser's ed....

I’m with Tea on the Beater can not read a shorter book then the Chaser, even if it’s the same book.

But I agree a reserve player is a 24 hour minimum requirement not maximum. So the switch would happen after they are done with whatever book they were reading at the time, or if they then continue with another it’s announced they are in for another 24 hours.

I think you’re referring to this discussion about Keeper books where the Keeper has to read the same book. Beaters can read different books if they match a word. I don’t recall a ruling that said a Beater could read a shorter page count book than the Chaser.

Just for the record - I wasn't trying to pull a fast one. I always assumed:
I assumed:
1. We have the same minimum read time as them if its the same book.
2. I'm shuffled back out when we announce it. But at least 24 hours after I was shuffled in.

I’d agree the Beater could read the shorter edition if they are reading the same book, if it’s the easiest for them to acquire, but the minimum reading time of the Chaser book would be in place.
