I am at about 50% now. I think the whole climbing aspect to it is cool. I like when books include an interesting place or hobby into the story.
The husband(view spoiler)[What a crazy lunatic. I am wondering if he knew (somehow) she had the trust fund before he married her and had some kind of master plan. Why else would he push to get married so quickly. And who does that anyway!? (hide spoiler)]

I am finding the back story leading up to the event more interesting that the main story. What do you think about Tracy (view spoiler)[wanting to have a baby? I was wondering if Dan would get freaked out, but he's game. Good 'ole Dan! (hide spoiler)]

Yes I’ve started, Vicki. I’m not as far in as you, only at 20% right now, but I agree that the mountain aspect is cool and a bit different and I’m looking forward to reading how it all comes together. I’m just about to settle down to read some more now :)

I've been catching up a bit so I can offer my thoughts a bit more now!

I definitely agree that there's something way, way off about the husband. It's all a bit convenient that she's a bit of a loner, sitting on $$$ and suddenly they're married? Saying that, the more I read, the less of a goody-two-shoes Andrea seems to be. (view spoiler)[ I've been reading Tracy's interview with the counsellor which is very revealing about Andrea's potential psyche. I'm normally fairly good at figuring out where a story might be headed but this one is totally keeping me guessing.

I feel for Tracy wanting to be a mother. It must be tough to have been so focussed on something her entire adult life at the sake of having a normal life and family. I'm glad that Dan is supportive, kudos to him for being prepared to reverse "the snip"!! (hide spoiler)]

I finsihed this one.

Yes, this one kept me guessing too. I didn't figure it out til it was revealed.

What I liked was (view spoiler)[How he continued with the character development, especially with the scenes with her work "family". This one had less Dan, but that is ok because it gave other characters a chance to move on with their stories.
He gives enough backstory that even if you haven't read one in a while, it is easy to keep up with that storylines.
So now that she is married, the next book will probably be about her having a child.
I did not see the other detective (I forgot his name already) as the bad guy. I really thought he was going to be a new reocurring character that she comes across periodically. (hide spoiler)]

Do you want to continue with thte next one (either now or in Spetember) or wait and see if it wins for September?
I won the next one in a GoodReads giveaway so I want to get it read and reviewed. I feel like I won't win again if I don't do that.
That then I have the NEXT one after that from NetGalley.

(view spoiler)[ I agree that I totally did not see it coming that the cop was the bad guy. Like you, I thought he might be a recurring irritating character or even just a one-off. Truth be told, I half thought that Andrea was going to be the killer, though I half dismissed it for being a bit too obvious and at one point suspected Andrea's boss. The web of Lynn Hoff/Andrea Strickland/Devin Chambers took me a while to unravel too!

The next one will almost certainly be about Tracy trying to have a baby. But if she falls pregnant then she won't be able to actively work so not sure which direction the story will follow. I wonder if the author may use her age/stressful job to create a storyline around Tracy trying (but failing) to conceive? (hide spoiler)]

I'll be ready to read the next one in a few days if you are? I'm just finishing a totally different book for light relief but if it wins my Sept vote, I'll just class the runner up as my winner.

I read through chapter 7...
I like how he uses some piece of America to add to the story. This time is the heroin and drug issue.

I also like (view spoiler)[ the new lady (forgot her name) who got Del the info and she lost a son as well.
The author does a good job developing the supporting cast in each book (hide spoiler)]
Tracy (view spoiler)[ it is sad to hear her odds. Her meeting with the dr was informative. I wonder what her next move will be. (hide spoiler)]

I went back to work Monday getting my class ready for kids (they come August 27) so haven't read at all this week.
Am going to on Sunday so hoping to get back into this.

I did but I figured you must have been busy when I hadn't heard from you but it doesn't matter because I've been power reading through a few books that I needed to get reviews done for anyway. My daughter goes back to school on 5th September so this week I'll be rushing around trying to sort out new school shoes etc. Hope you got your class ready?

When you have finished, (view spoiler)[ what did you think about the ending? I didn't see the police officer being involved, even though I suspected the navy officer (I've forgotten her name now). This is the second Crosswhite book on the bounce that's involved a bent cop, I wonder if it is just a coincidence.

I liked Leah Battles, interesting to see how her character develops when she goes to work with Dan eventually. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I also liked Battles. I think she will add to the story. I had feelings she would be reoccurring because he made her strong and independent like Tracy.

I like how Del had a side story and that got explored more.

Dan was such a small part this time (because of the other developments), but that makes their storyline boring to me.

I liked Del's new lady friend Celia (I think that was her name!)

I didn't predict the ending, but then I never do with his. He doesn't put obvious clues along the way.
