Yes, I take books on vacation. Why would I not? Now when I recently was flying to Europe, I only took my Kindle but did have a library book on that.

OTOH, I only have young adult children now, but when they were little, if I knew they had damaged a book, we showed it to the librarian and more than a few times did we end up paying or securing a replacement book.
