Similar books but with more romance

Can anyone recommend some good paranormal romance (but action packed) novels? I like the Mercy Thompson Series, I just wish there was a little bit more Romance in it, I enjoy all the action though. So I am looking for a good balance of romance and action.

Kendra, have you read Patricia Briggs Alpha and Omega series? Incredibly good. Alpha & Omega

People who like PB also tend to like books by Ilona Andrews. She and her husband (writing team) has several series, I'd personally recommend starting with her Hidden Legacy series which is relatively new and very, very easy to get into - with more romance earlier (and fewer books to catch up with). Burn for Me

There is romance in (most) of these books, but it may be very slow to develop, except in the Nalini Singh books where there is usually a happy ending. The nice thing about these series is you won't mind the wait. I pre-order books by most of these authors. Some of them are older series.

Written in Red Series by Anne Bishop, slower but addictive
Angels' Blood - Nalini Singh, my favorite series by her

Playing with Fire: A Magical Romantic Comedy RJ Blain, hilarious and action packed
Chosen Christine Pope, I binge read these
Ill Wind Rachel Caine, older series
Born in Fire K. F Breene
Dead Spots Melissa F. Olson
Boundary Crossed Also Olson, her other series, with crossovers
Fool Moon The Dresden Series by Jim Butcher, this is book 2, most people agree that book 1 is the weakest book
If Angels Burn Lynn Viehl - loved this series
Radiance Grace Draven, great romance
The Hum and the Shiver fantasy, not a lot of romance in this series, but a lovely unfolding mystery

Many people like these, I have them but am not up on the series

A question of definition: are you asking about romance, or hot sex scenes? I checked the romance section of my local library recently, and it seemed that most of the books would be better described as 'hot sex' or maybe 'chick porn'. I do wish there was a more accurate labelling of books. I like reading actual romance. I don't like finding hot graphic sex scenes in the books I read (I tend to skip them or just give up on the book).

For romance, Anne Bishop, Deborah Harkness, and Wen Spencer come to mind. Add Louis McMaster Bujold.
