Nik Krasno | 14870 comments Well, well, I just love those things. First they'd built a sub that couldn't float, now they've built one that cannot dock:

No wonder those defense budgets look as they do. Taxpayers' is just nobody's money.
What do you think?

Michel Poulin Oh my god! This is about as much incompetence as that involved in the Canadian Navy's program to buy four used British submarines, which quickly proved to be rusted out lemons (one of them caught fire during its first trip to Canada, killing one sailor). Not surprisingly, no Canadian admiral or acquisition official was fired for that debacle, and I expect that no Spanish admiral or official will be fired either for this S-80 debacle. Try doing that magnitude of a mistake in a private corporation and see how many seconds it will take for you to be ejected out of your office.

Ian Miller | 10656 comments I love the comment that "there had been deficiencies in the program". Presumably a "minor design flaw"?
