I did it! I just finished! What a wrap to a great series. I cannot wait to see what is coming next.

(view spoiler)[ I suspected that Arlen was not going to be returning and sad too, that Shanvah and Shanjat did not make it. The Core/Creator concept was interesting and the way that Arlen joined with the magic and was able to hang on long enough to do the warding that was needed to end everything was well done.
Part of me still wonders about that Consort guy that got away and what will happen with the Demons in the future series. I was happy with Renna and Jardir at the end and the way he stepped up to support her. Darin Bales - "delivered" in the end. The pact signed in the Hollow was awesome and the roll out of all of the babies and their names was sweet. (hide spoiler)]

It must be the day that's in it - I just finished too! What an ending! This has definately been a 5 star read. I will collect my thoughts and go back and read all the spoilers.

Re Sikvah and Hasik (view spoiler)[I had also forgotten the relationship there! It was a real *doh*moment lol In many ways this was my favorite storyline. The child, with her child, confronting the wicked father! I honestly thought Hasik was just a traitor to his race but it makes more sense that he was being controlled by the demon. I also wonder at that stage the demon took over. Hasik was such a nasty man on his own that it was hard to tell.

I don't know how I feel about the fact that Abben survived. He was not a nice person but much of his worst betrayals were committed under torture. I don't know how I would hold up under tortue, I suspect very badly! And I also don't know, thankfully, how much tortue changes a person. Abben showed great strenght againt the demon at the end. Is that why he was a part of Inevras plan? I don't think that was really clear. Maybe it was to have all the right players present in the room for Sikvah to battle? (hide spoiler)]

Re Arlen (view spoiler)[I thought that a perfect ending for him. Lets face it, he was doomed from the start. But I thought that of Renna and yet she survived.

Was Arlen the true Deliverer? He struck the killing blow to the queen. Maybe the Deliverer was the combination of people who journyed to the core - none of them could have done it without the others. Maybe it will be Olive Paper in the next book. Or is it Arlen? Is he the only one who actually made it to the Core and will he reappear in the next book in some form? Lots of food for thought. (view spoiler)[I’m curious as to the sister wife comment that Inerva had. Is it because Jardir offered to take Renna as his wife? That right there was an “are you kidding me” moment.

I figured that Arlen wouldn’t return. I am torn, I think he was the Deliverer. It was him that started the movement and even made Jardir question himself and call Arlen it.

I am glad Ashia was okay but am wondering what is going to happen between her and Briar. It didn’t mention Asome in the end.

I knew Jardir would make it.

So happy Ellisa and Ragen made it! I was worried about Arlen’s “true parents” since they raised him. (hide spoiler)]

This is not my favorite genre. In fact if you asked me two years ago if I would read a fantasy I would tell you “heck no” and you were crazy. I did enjoy this series with the exception of book three. I don’t think that I will join the fantasy read next year.

I am surpried Renna left Jardir standing after his condesending offer! She is one person who doesn't need protection :O It shows how much her character has developed that she took it in the generous spirit it was offered. Part of me is laughing the Jardir wants to collect all of Arlens exs lol

I had completely forgotten that Ashia is still married to Asome! I hope that Jadir will dissovle the marriage and strip Asome of any rights to the child. The child is still the heir to the throne though. Ashia will probably have have to hand him over at some point. I don't gay marriage being legalized in Karsia any time soon!!
