I remember the book cover (blue scene of a lake front sand beach with one cloth type beach chair and an umbrella facing the water- A woman approaching the beach looks at her family enjoying their summer day, thinks about the life she does "not" have, turns around walks away and begins her life of choice which, I think, may have involved a small restaurant? or boutique? or? - and stays away until some time later in the book when believe her son Searches for her to bring her home to be at his wedding.
