What are you reading in July 2018?
FinishedThe Beating of His Wings.Only 2 stars, disappointing.
Never mind, onto Grey Sister (excited!)
So my reads for July are The Crystal Cave, Age of War, Before They Are Hanged, Last Argument of Kings, and finally Best Served Cold. I finished Age of Swords yesterday. I listened to the audio version. It was absolutely great. I gave it 5 stars.
I'm currently reading Succubus Heat (ebook) and One Good Dragon Deserves Another (audio). Both are light and fun :)
I'm planning to read this month:
- ebook & buddy-reads
- as much as possible of (audiobooks)

A friend and I tried the audio on City of Bread and both struggled. She abandoned it, I kept going but the others reading it seemed to enjoy it more than the audio people. You'll have to tell me how it goes.

I assume your spellcheck tricked you and you meant City of Brass (though I'd eagerly read a book titled City of Bread ^_^). I picked the audiobook from the library on a whim... I'll let you know if I end up liking it :)

Finished New York 2140 and next up will be the last of this year's Hugo-nominated novels, Mur Lafferty's Six Wakes.
I read Alif the Unseen recently and I must say that reading a fantasy with Muslim characters is so refreshing. I mean, of course there are books like Throne of the Crescent Moon that have cultures based on Islamic/Arabic society, but with Alif the Unseen, I get actual Muslim characters talking about the Quran and other stuff related to Islam. It's really nice to see my religion represented in this genre.

That is a good one, auto correct :)

I'm loving tbis guys' work so onto Prince of Thorns"
Equally brilliant but more dark, yes I know Sisters are dark. Jorg is one of my favourite characters.

It does make a good change.

I hope you'll like the Broken Empire series. Jorg is a fascinating character! :)

Is it your first time through the Elderlings saga? You're in for a treat :D

I just finished binge-reading the Georgina Kincaid series, and I have to admit I was very pleasantly surprised. It's been a while since I tried reading PNR (paranormal romance) and I didn't expect to like it that much. It's light, easy and yet thought-out, with a solid plot.
On to Age of War now!

Halfway through the first one and i'm liking it fine so far, not loving it yet. I can see the potential though and I keep forgetting how young he's supposed to be!

"I loved this book. Actually my favourite of this trilogy, which is most unusual as it's the middle book. So many long overdue payoffs in it that it took my breath away. One of her very best (and that's saying something!)
Outcasts of Order by L.E. Modesitt Jr. was another great addition to the Recluce series. The bad news is that instead of finishing up Beltur's story, it's going to take another book & year to do that. I gave this one, like the last, a 4 star review here:https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Finished Six Wakes and, for something completely different, started Margaret St. Clair's Sign of the Labrys.
I finally finished The Crystal Cave. 2.5 stars gave it a 3. Found it boring and it took me forever to get through it. Now on to Age of War.
I'm reading these two books for July. The Fires of Heaven (Wheel of Time, #5)
The Blackmail Club (Jack McCall Mystery…
Finished Prince of Thorns. The second half was way better than the first. 4 stars.Onto The Black Prism
Finished Sign of the Labrys (it was at best a short novel, if not a longish novella) and decided to go back to Hugo reading with And Then There Were N-One by Sarah Pinsker.
Just finished The Bookminder by M.K. Wiseman. It's a YA historical fantasy that takes place in 1679. I enjoyed it a lot.
Finished Sightwitch. Not really interested in this series anymore. I liked the world building and the magic system, but I still don't know what's really going on or what the purpose of it all is. I gave it three books, including the prequel, so I think I'm done. I've now started up Birth of the Firebringer. Unicorn main character. I'm all for that.
And I finished And Then There Were N-One (which was fun) and am starting Home by Nnedi Okorafor, which should be the last of this year's Hugo novella nominees.
Finished Age of War. The audio version is wonderful. Gave it a 5 star. Here is my review. Now onto Before They Are Hanged.

Finished reading Wizard and Glass which I enjoyed. Not so lucky with The Darkness That Comes Before though

"How many covers are there! Every time i try to buy her trilogy I end up with one book having a different cover. It drives me crazy! :D
No idea, I'm on uk covers, I don't like the US ones.
However, I'm not reading it as the make narrator has changed and the new one is just awful. He reads the word wrongly, live ships became liv ships. He made the characters seen weird etc. I'm now waiting for a paperback to arrive :((((

Finally finished Not So Much, Said the Cat by Michael Swanwick. Really enjoyed his short stories, although there were some really odd ones in this collection. Also finished YA The Shield Breaker: Book One in the Enclave Saga by Scott Beckman.
Just finished Last Dragon Standing. It was an OK read but not as good as the previous books in the series.Outcasts of Order is on my list to read as well as Sins of Empire this month.

I have a couple of more pages of To Ride Hell’s Chasm to read and than I´ll see what next.
I managed to read one more book last month, The Improbability of Love, but it was more of a coincident really. I went to a book shop whose book club I'm part of and just saw this book about a painting and bought it. Kept me up all night, it was excellent.
I also had a cleaning week of my home library and found The Tower that I haven't read before so started it and it's actually pretty interesting so going to finish it as well.
