I was able to get a copy of this book for 3.00; it's a lovely illustrated hard copy. I'll be interested to know if anyone else would like to join in? I see some of us need more time for Humboldt. So, perhaps we should not begin until July 10th?

Thoughts?

Story (storyheart) July 10th sounds good. I'll pull it off my shelf and put it near the top of my pile.

Navi (nvsahota) I have had this sitting on my Kindle for a few months now. I'll be sure to join in on the discussion :)

Sarah Booth (boothacus) | 112 comments That might be helpful. Seems we have a few folks really getting into Humbolt, like myself who are willing to talk about it. It’s been great! I’m so thrilled that people have joined in!

Great -- Looks like we at least 4 including me. Sarah- do you also have this on Kindle , or will you get a hard copy ?

Let's go with July 10th! That will give us 3 weeks to read and discuss it- we will see how it goes.

May take longer....hmmm...

Sarah Booth (boothacus) | 112 comments Mine is the audio copy which I think was a poor choice. It's something I would prefer a hard copy of a like copy off so I could underline things.

Sarah:
The hard copy is beautifully illustrated. I have not started; I have been too busy elsewhere. Have you started the book? What are your plans?

Sarah Booth (boothacus) | 112 comments That one I have as Kindle and starting it now.

Story (storyheart) An artist has created a popup book inspired by The Book of Barely Imagined Beings: A 21st Century Bestiary (which I'm sad to say I haven't had time to even start yet.)

Sarah Booth (boothacus) | 112 comments Storyheart, that is super cool, thanks for post it. Pop-up books aren’t just for the wee ones, and they’re so much more imaginative than the ones of my childhood!

What a neat idea, and this book is perfect for pop ups.

I love the way this book idea came about from Caspar considering other old manuscripts and then realizing we have many present day creatures that would qualify for a bestiary in the 21st C. I am traveling a lot today, but I want to look up and possibly link for us some of the ancient manuscripts her refers to in the introduction.

Later.
