Faye shook her head at him. “Nope... you get to take it.” She told her, sticking her tongue out. “Please? For me?” She asked, trying to convince her.

Nick eventually came to the room that was gonna belong to the boys. “Okay. Other stuff is put away. I tucked the money away too.” He told Hailey, glancing st her.

Zar frowned a little more when she told her again, thinking on it for a moment.
"Switch every night?" she offered up to meet in the middle.

Hailey looked up when Nick came in, working on checking the bed just cause, you know, paranoia.
"Okay cool, sounds good. we're pretty stocked up for now, but that money will be useful," she said with a nod.

Faye shrugged. “Fine.” She relented at the offered compromise. She smiled a bit at her and organized her stuff.

Nick nodded slightly. “Yeah. It’ll be good in case we need it. But we’re set here for a while.” He agreed. “What else for you want done or checked?” He offered.

Zar smiled a bit when she agreed, putting her stuff right next to the bed on the floor near her backpack, wanting it close just in case they needed to dip out really quick.

Hailey nodded, stopping her messing around with the bed and watched Victor put the blankets they brought up there with the stuff already there.
"Keep our food packed, we'll just eat what Brandie's brother stocked up. Um....besides that, check and see if everything working? Power, water, stuff like that," she suggested.

Faye smiled a bit at her. She tucked her stuff out of the way and sat on the edge of the bed, looking around the room.

Nick nodded slightly to her. He went to go check on the power and water, moving through the house and making sure it worked all over. Water was running without issue but the power was off. So he went outside to try and see if it was just a main breaker to flip or what.

Zar put her stuff out really quick, not like she had much to do anyways and shot a quick glance to Cass to see if she was doing well. It seemed like she was so she moved over to the window, glancing outside and looking around from here.

Hailey helped Victor with the blankets, leaving him to unpack all his toys and coloring books. She moved around the rest of the house, seeing what looked like a drop down staircase in the hallway. Frowning, she wasn't able to reach the handle from here...but she could get up from outside probably.

Faye finished unpacking and sat on the edge of the bed. She kept quiet as she watched Zar and Cass, checking on them.

Nick walked around the exterior of the house until he found the fuse box. It had a latch but someone had left it unlocked so he opened the cover and glanced it over before flipping each switch to hopefully turn on all the power.

Hailey was thinking about going outside to try and find a way into the attic when the lights in the hallway suddenly came on. Nick must've found the switch. Good, electricity was something they were going to need for sure.

Nick closed the box and came back inside, checking that everything seemed to be working now. He found Hailey in the hall and tilted his head. “What’s up?” He asked curiously.

Hailey looked when Nick joined her in the hallway, pointing up at the ceiling.
"I think that might go into the attic, or whatever's above us. I wanted to check it out," she replied.

Nick nodded slightly. He stretched up on his toes but couldn’t quite reach. “Probably not much up there but come here.” He replied, figuring he could pick her up so she could reach and get it open since neither of them could reach it on their own.

Hailey watched Nick try to get it, but even he wasn't quite tall enough. Nodding, she did go over to him, putting her hand on his shoulder to brace herself so he could pick her up.

Nick shifted slightly. He picked her up, lifting her up so she could reach the handle to pull the panel open. He held her steady until she got it b

Hailey let Nick pick her up, reaching her free hand up and grabbing the handle. It took a few hard tugs to get it, but she managed to open it, seeing a ladder there. Grabbing that as well and giving it a swift tug and it came loose, extending down to the floor.

Nick held her up easily until she got the hatch open and the ladder down. He smiled and set her back on her feet. “I’ll check it out with you if you want. I don’t really have anything else to handle right now.” He offered.

Hailey brushed her hands off on her pants once she was set back down, looking at Nick.
"Yeah sure," she replied, giving a glance up the ladder. She climbed up it easily enough, peeking into the top once she got there. As she thought, it was an attic and it thankfully wasn't too small so she was able to stand up straight. Not much was up there besides old furniture, boxes of random stuff, lots of hunting and fishing supplies.

Nick nodded. He smiled and climbed up after her. He was tall enough that he could just barely stand up straight at the tallest point of the attic. He glanced around. “Just exploring Or are you looking for something in particular?” He asked her.

"Just exploring really, wanted to know what was up here,"Hailey replied, walking around the dusty attic. With any luck, there wasn't gonna be any spiders up here. Not that she minded them too much, just when they surprised her, like yesterday morning.

Nick nodded slightly. He didn’t mind them exploring up there, even though there wasn’t much reason to. It wasn’t like they were snooping through everything, they were just trying to see what all was where.

Hailey walked around the attic a bit, examining the boxes. One box caught her eye that had Brandie's name written on it. Curiosity got the better of her and she went over, opening it up. It was a box of mostly clothes, probably ones that the family kept here for them to wear so they didn't have to lug a bunch of crap with them when they came. Made sense.

Nick explored a bit, not really seeing anything of interest. He did examine some of the hunting stuff though because it looked like it could be useful for them as a possible weapon. He glanced to hailey occasionally to check on her.

Hailey looked through the box a bit more, something at the bottom catching her eye. Grabbing it, she realized it was a trophy and she read what it was for quickly.
"Whoa," she said mostly to herself at first, looking at Nick,"We picked quite the girl to help you out. She won first place in a hunting competition held around here a few years back."

Nick tilted his head and came over. “Huh. That’s interesting.” He agreed with a shrug, glancing at the trophy. “Explains all the weapons and stuff here though.”

"Yeah. She certainly didn't seem like the type though," Hailey replied, looking at the trophy for a moment longer before putting it back where it belonged. Closing the box up, she stood up straight."Okay, now that I know there are no weirdos hiding out in the attic, I'm okay." She chuckled softly as she said this.

Nick shrugged. “Maybe she isn’t. But she’s good at it. It probably can bring in money for the family or something. I don’t know. I wasn’t all that coherent when I met her.” He commented. “Are you sure? I think there might be one weirdo in here.” He teased, looking right at her.

Nick laughed a bit. “Nah. I think I’m pretty normal. I can’t move stuff with my mind.” He teased her lightly. “So any weirdness I have is probably just due to being around you. It’s rubbing off on me.”

"Says the guy who can literally turn invisible," Hailey said, crossing her arms over her chest. She did, however, look at Nick for a moment before moving forward and quickly pecking his lips before moving away, a blush on her cheeks."I shall continue rubbing my weirdness off on you as much as I like."

Nick shrugged slightly. "Yeah, but that's kinda a secretive ability." He commented. "moving stuff is more active." He gave her a quick kiss, pouting dramatically when she moved back from him. "That's fair. I accept having to deal with your weirdness." He assured.

Hailey rolled her eyes at him, smiling at his next words. She moved towards him again and kissed him once more, this time longer than the last. She really liked him....a lot. Took her a while to come to terms with it, but she really, really did.

Nick slipped an arm around her when she moved close so she would hopefully just stay close. He kissed her softly, cupping her cheek with his free hand. He pulled away after a moment, not wanting to push too far or screw stuff up somehow.

Hailey kissed him happily as they stood there, her arms moving so they weren't crossed anymore and instead were resting on his chest. She whined softly when he moved back, following him to connect their lips together again. She wasn't done yet.

Nick immediately moved back close when she did, kissing her again. He gently deepened the kiss, taking things slow. He hugged her close to him

Hailey was blushing like mad, but she really did enjoy kissing Nick. Most everything about Nick really, as annoying as he could be sometimes. She kissed him happily for a while before she pulled away, not going far though.

Nick kissed her happily, holding her close to him. He’d liked her for ages and now that they were actually a thing, it was better almost since it wasn’t so secretive or being denied. He looked her over, blushing a slight bit.

Hailey noticed the blush on his cheek and reached up, poking the red spot.
"You're blushing," she pointed out, knowing that she was too of course, far worse then Nick was. At some point, she wasn't sure when, but at some point she would stop blushing every single time they kissed.

Nick rolled his eyes. “Compared to you, I’m barely blushing at all.” He teased, kissing the redness on her cheek. He kept his arms around her and stayed close, his head tilted down to hers. Partially because he couldn’t stand up straight without hitting his head but more just to be close to her.

"I know, I know," Hailey laughed, him pointing it out only making it worse for her. She remained close to him for some time, just relaxed really which was a bit odd. They were in an old dusty attic after all, not exactly the place to get cozy.

Nick grinned. He stayed close to her, not really caring that they were just standing in the dusty attic. It was away from the others which meant that they could actually be affectionate so he was in no rush to go back downstairs with everyone.

Hailey remained there with him for a good 5 minutes, just standing and enjoying being so close to him. They didn't get to do it often after all so she was savoring the moment. Finally though, she figured they should make their way down and she slowly removed herself from Nick.
"Lets go back down and check on the others okay?" she said.

Nick pouted when she finally Pulled away. “Fine.” He agreed, leaning over and giving her another quick light kiss before letting her go. He followed her back down the ladder. “We good to just close it back up?”

"Don't pout," Hailey told him, kissing him back. Maybe she would have both of them on watch tonight so they could spend more time together away from the others."Yeah there's no reason to keep it open." She said this once they were both down the ladder.

Nick nodded slightly. He pushed the ladder back up so it folded before stretching and shoving the panel back up and hoping it would latch. He didn’t mind if he had to pick up Hailey and have her do it. He was just trying to do it the easier way.

It latched just fine, it just making a slight banging noise.
"Well now we know what's up there," Hailey said, dusting off her pants a little bit.

"Explore the attic?" Zar asked, having poked her head out the door when she heard the banging noise.

"yep. No dead bodies or anything." Nick joked lightly. He smiled a bit and glanced around. He nodded to Zar. "Yep. Lots of dust up there and hunting stuff mainly." He explained.

Zar nodded her head, motioning her head into the room she had taken.
"The kids are getting hungry," she informed them, facing Nick when she said this, but her eyes were on Hailey.

"Wanna make up some lunch?" she told him, going to help even though, well, she wasn't exactly the best with the stove...but she could manage if she had help.

Nick nodded slightly. “Alright. We’ll go make food.” He agreed. He glanced to Zar before heading downstairs and to the kitchen. He started getting some stuff out that they could cook. None of them had really learned anything about cooking other than their own experimentation mainly.

Hailey followed Nick down the hallway to the kitchen which Zar went back into her room. She let Nick decide on what they were going to prepared, seeing what she would be able to help out with so she didn't, you know, burn anything down.

Nick looked through all the stuff they had. “Hmm. Looks like we could probably make burgers if we really want to.” He offered, glancing at Hailey. “It wouldn’t be that difficult and is pretty good for us.” He waited for her opinion, wanting to make sure they were in agreement.
