Zar could have stayed down for longer, probably another minute or so, but she figured now was a safe bet so everyone would know she was fine. She glanced around for a moment to see where she was before heading back over towards Faye and Hailey."There they are," Hailey said, relaxing slightly when both of them popped up almost right after one another.
Nick took a few breaths. He couldn't have made it much longer so he was kinda surprised to see Zar pop up right after him. "Good job" He told her with a slight smile.Faye nodded slightly, glancing over Zar to make sure she was okay.

Zar looked at Nick when she started getting a little closer to him and the other girls, nodding in his direction. "How long was that?" she asked out of curiosity once he got back to the other two.
"6 minutes!" Victor said from his spot, looking at Nick,"Nick yours was 5 minutes and 55 seconds!"
Nick nodded slightly to her before glancing to Vic. "Wow, thanks for keeping count." He told him with a bright smile. He held an arm out for Hailey in an offer to hold her.Faye smiled at Zar. "Are you sure you're not part fish?"

Victor nodded with a smile back at him, giving him a thumbs up."Who knows, I very well might be," Zar replied with a smile as she got closer to Faye.
Hailey let go of Faye and paddled her way over to Nick when he offered his arm, holding onto him once she got there.
Nick returned the thumbs up. He wrapped his arm around Hailey gently, holding her up. "You almost had enough water for today?" He asked her quietly, just wanting to check on her. He didn't mind staying in all day but doubted she'd want to for very much longer.Faye smiled and shrugged. "You don't look very fishy but who knows?" She commented. "So Now what?"

"Yeah I think I'm done honestly. Everyone has been in for a while, looks like Ace and Hunt are knocked out over there. Lets get out and get some food in us," Hailey replied, looking over at the kids,"You two hungry?"Victor nodded right away, figuring they were gonna get out now and he helped Cass back over to the edge of the lake and out of the water.
"Who knows, maybe I'll develop gills at some point," Zar replied, seeing that pretty much everyone was getting out,"I'm gonna stay in until food is ready." She figured they would eat here anyways.
Nick nodded slightly. He headed back to where Hailey could stand, not letting go of her. Cass thanked him and got out of the water. She wrung her hair dry, glancing to the others.
Faye nodded slightly. "Alright. I'm gonna go help with food." She agreed, smiling gently. "I'm gonna get out though."

Hailey held onto him as he guided her back to the shallow part so they could get out, letting go of him when her feet were able to touch. She stepped out and tried to brush some of the water off of her, opening her wings a bit as well since they had gotten wet."These are gonna take time to dry," she complained.
"Yeah, but it was still fun," Victor said with a smile.
"It was little man," she replied, ruffling his wet hair slightly. Only sucky thing is is that they couldn't fly with wet wings. Good thing she brought food along with them.
"Okay," Zar replied to Faye.
Nick followed after her, getting out of the water. He opened his wings and stretched them out, shaking some of the water out of them. "Lay in the sun, that'll help." He suggested softly.Cass sat down in the sun, letting it help her dry her off.
Faye smiled a bit and nodded. She swam back nearer to the edge.

"Yeah," Hailey replied, opening her wings up slowly, since they felt heavier being wet. Which, well, they were. She moved to where she had put her clothes before, letting her legs dry off a bit before slipping her jeans back on, but leaving everything else off. Her shirt would just get soaked because of her wings anyways.
Nick shook out his wings before folding them back close to him. "Do you want me to help you make lunch?" Nick offered to her, trying to help however he could.Faye joined them on shore, keeping quiet so she wouldn't wake the boys.

"Yeah sure," Hailey replied, moving over to her backpack. It was the simple freeze dried stuff that she brought with her, since they were so light. And, of course, some fruits cause, even though they were on the run and homeless, she wanted them to eat somewhat decently.
Nick shrugged slightly at her. He followed to help her distribute the food. His mind wandered a bit, wondering what was at the cabin that Brandi (I think that was her name?) had offered for them to use. He wanted to find something more consistent for them all though he didn't really know where to start.

(( Okie cool ^^ ))"I think that might be it down there," Hailey said. They were up in the air the next day, searching for the cabin that Brandie had mentioned to them that belonged to her family. They had passed a few on the way here, but none of them looked like how Brandie described to them.
"The colors match up from what I can see," Hunt agreed, flying next to Ace like he typically did.
^^ Nick flew in the back of the flock, letting Hailey and hunt lead the way for finding the house. He looked around for any one that matched the description, nodding when they pointed it out. “Looks right to me. Let’s go down and look?” He suggested.
Ace flew near hunt, glad things were normal and they could be close now without any issue. He looked for the house as well, moving to fly down lower when they spotted the house that looked right.

"Yeah lets go down and take a peak. She said that her family wasn't using it right now, so hopefully no one's there," Hailey replied, beginning to drop down close to the cabin. Not right up on it cause, well, she was always the cautious one. Once down, she folded up her wings and fixed up her clothes that had gotten a little messed up in the wind, waiting for everyone else to drop as well.Hunt and Ace dropped next, Hunt ruffling his hair a bit back into place and stuffing his hands in his front pockets.
"How close is town to here?" he asked out of curiosity,"It's gonna be a pain if we have to go a long way."
"We can figure that out later," Hailey replied, watching at the kids, Zar, Faye and Nick all came down as well before starting towards the cabin.
Ace rolled his eyes at the comment about how far from town it was. “Agreed. We can sort it out later. It’s not a big deal if it’s safe.” He commented. Nick landed last, making sure the kids were alright and everything first. He walked over to Hailey. “Lead the way.” He said gently, looking around them. He hadn’t seen any signs of people being there or nearby but they needed to be cautious still.

Hailey walked to the cabin, trying to listen and see if she heard anything out of the ordinary. So far there was nothing. Coming up on it, she could see that there was no car parked around it, no recent car tracks either. Brandie might have actually told the truth about this."Front door or window?" Zar asked, not fully trusting the girl and she was still expecting this to be a trap.
Hailey contemplated for a moment before looking back at the others.
"Stay here for a second, let me go check out inside just in case," she said starting to head to the front.
Faye stayed close to Zar and the kids, watching the house warily. She trusted Hailey but the house still could be a very big trap for them. Nick moved to go check out the windows of the house, peeking inside to see if he noticed anything.

Hailey went around front, checking out the door. The door was locked, but that was easily changed from a bobby pin she happened to have. Gotta love YouTube videos. She went inside and checked the entire house, making sure that everything was good. About 3 minutes later she came out."Come on guys, it's fine," she called for them.
Nick trusted Hailey to check the house though he was right there in case she needed him. He heard her and came over to check out the house. Faye glanced at Zar before heading to join hailey and look at the house. “How long are we gonna stay this time?” She asked faintly.

"If everything goes well and nothing happens, we'll stay until we can get a permanent home. Or, you know, until Brandies family finds out we're here and kicks us out," Hailey replied to Faye with a shrug, going back inside the house once she got everyone attention."I think I liked the field better," Hunt said, though he had always been a fan of the outdoors and open space. He stepped into the cabin, which was much smaller then the previous on they were in, but it looks in the same good shape.
Faye sighed and nodded. She looked around the cabin as they went inside, not liking that it was smaller but they really couldn’t be picky. Ace glanced at Hunt. “You could camp in the yard?” He teased faintly, grinning at him.
Nick quietly went and double checked the house, just being extra careful though he did trust Hailey.

"There's only two bedrooms here and a small attic. Thankfully the living room is big enough so some of us can sleep out here," Hailey said, already deciding in her mind that the rooms would go to the kids and Faye and Zar. The rest of them would make due with the living room."I could," Hunt replied, looking around the house when the phone there caught his eyes. Raising it, he went over and pressed the button for the messages out of curiosity, there being 3. Two of them were just voice recording messaged, but the 3rd was actually a message for them from Brandie.
'Hey it's Brandie. Um, I guess you not answering means you never got to the cabin. Or you are there and didn't answer the phone which, I don't really blame you. Anyways uh, I hope that Nick is doing okay, I hope no one else is hurt. You guys are welcome to stay there as long as you'd like, I told my brother that some folks I met would be coming around, don't worry I didn't tell them all about you, just that you were runaways and needed some place for a little while. He said he wouldn't say anything. He filled up the cabinets with food for you and says he left some money on the counter for you for anything you might need. Um...if you get the chance, give me a call back Hailey, I would just...I'd like to know you guys are alright. Okay. Bye.'
Nick explored quietly before returning to the main area with the others. He listened to the voicemail before glancing to Hailey. “You gonna reply or not?” He asked quietly. He personally wouldn’t reply though he was grateful, not wanting to tip Brandie off that they were there.Ace shrugged st him though he didn’t particularly want to see Hunt sleeping outside, especially as it was only going to get colder out. He set his stuff down and waited quietly.

Hailey listened to the entire voice mail that Brandie had left for them, chewing on her bottom lip as she decided what was best. Brandie had helped them out when they really needed it, saved Nick's life. But....did that mean she was actually good? Moving into the kitchen, she checked the cabinets and saw that they were, in fact, stocked up pretty full, just like Brandie said her brother did. And on the counter was almost $300. Running her fingers through her hair, she cursed slightly and went over to the phone, taking it and searching through the history to find Brandie's number on there.Hunt watched her do this, not particularly wanting her to call the girl back either. But it wasn't up to him. Instead he just walked through the rest of the house to check it out.
Nick kept quiet, letting Hailey make the deduction and the call even though he technically was supposed to be their leader. He still somewhat preferred Hailey in charge. The others seemed like they would follow her a lot better than they would with him. Ace followed hunt, looking around. “It’s small but that’s okay I guess.” He commented. He looked over at Hunt, wondering what he was thinking.

Hailey found her number saved into the phone, hesitating for quite a long moment before pressing the call button and raising it to her ear. She paced around the kitchen as it rung and rung and she almost though the other girl wasn't gonna answer. Until she heard her almost breathless voice on the other end of the line."Brandie, it's Hailey. Are...are you okay?" she asked, worried that she was in trouble. But Brandie was fine, just rushed out of class to answer the phone when she realized who it was."Oh okay good....Yeah we all made it....Yeah Nick is doing just fine....Nope, he's 100%....Yeah.....Yeah." She continued on the conversation with her, thanking her for what her brother did somewhere in there.
"Yeah it's a bit small, but still. It's a roof," Hunt replied, taking a quick peak into the bedrooms that were there,"Clean for being a cabin. Wonder if Brandie's brother cleaned up?"
Nick came over when Hailey brought the phone to her ear, wanting to hear if Brandie answered and what she had to say. He smiled faintly and kept quiet as he listened. Ace followed hunt around, glancing in the rooms. “Probably. Or they just take better care of the house. I dunno.” He said softly.

Hailey kept on with the conversation, mostly thanking Brandie and letting her know they were fine. When Brandie asked if she would keep in touch with her, Hailey hesitated. She wasn't sure what she should do, if she should stay in contact with this girl or just leave it at this, just enough to let her know that they made it. Brandie seemed to notice her hesitation though."It's okay Hailey, I understand if you can't or don't want to. I'm happy enough that you managed to make it over there," Brandie told her. Hailey bit her lip and sighed, rubbing her forehead.
"I'll try to call once a week," she finally said. After a few more exchanged words, they ended the conversation, Hailey leaning against the counter in the kitchen and setting the phone down afterwards with a heavy sigh.
"Yeah maybe that too," Hunt replied, making his way back into the main room, sitting down on the couch where Zar and Faye were.
Nick brushed his hand against her arm gently when she hung up the phone. “It’s alright. We can check in with her just while we’re here. It may be good to keep in touch cause she can let us know if her family is planning on showing up, give us more of a chance to get out rather than having to run.” He told her softly, trying to focus a bit on the bright side. Ace nodded. He flopped down on the couch beside Hunt, looking around.
Faye glanced at them. “Well. Whatcha think?” She asked the boys curiously.

"Yeah I know," Hailey replied, rubbing her forehead again,"I just....I dunno if that was a good idea. Brandie seemed really nice and she helped you but...it's hard to trust people. What if she's actually bad? Or if she isn't, what if the School figures out we're talking to her and they hurt her or..." She didn't continue, not wanting to think about the worse option. She wasn't sure how she would go on if someone died trying to help them."It's fine, small, but it's fine," Hunt replied with a shrug of his shoulders,"Still liked the field better though."
“I know. And well handle that if any of it happens. If she’s part of the school then we’ll fight them off. If they go for her, well protect her if we can.. but we need allies if we can get them. Just for right now until things settle down.” He said softly to her. Faye nodded slightly. “That’s fair.” She agreed. She could understand wanting to be outside. It was much easier to fly off and escape from there rather than try and get out of the house first.

Hailey listened to his words, nodding ever so often. She knew that they were right, she knew that he was right. It was just really damn hard for her to trust anyone, almost as bad as Zar in that field. But she had already done it so...it was what it was."It's still early, we should unpack a bit and try to get settled. Then maybe spend 2 people out to see what's around here, see where the town is and what not," she suggested, still running by things with Nick. Cause he was the leader.
Hunt nodded, moving slightly on the couch so his shoulder was touching Ace's, relaxing a bit.
Nick nodded slightly. “Sounds like a good plan to me.” He agreed quietly. He wasn’t really acting like a leader, still letting Hailey decide what to do before just going with it. Ace leaned his head on Hunt’s shoulder. We can probably go outside and look around. See how close stuff is.” He offered softly, willing to do whatever would relax Hunt.

Hailey nodded, hearing Ace chime in. She was fine with it, but she looked to Nick to tell them if that was okay or not.Hunt looked over at the two of them, waiting to see if Nick was fine with that. They hadn't really talked about what had happened between the two of them, them having spoken earlier about loading stuff up. He just kinda pushed it to the back of his mind.
Nick nodded slightly to them both. “Go ahead. If you end up in town, stay out of trouble and make sure you aren’t followed back.” He said quietly, not going to argue with Hunt about it. He didn’t want to start another fight or anything with him. Ace nodded slightly and got up. He thanked Nick and waited for Hunt.

Hunt also nodded, getting up when Ace did. He followed him back outside, much preferring to be out here. It was a bit weird, he was perfectly comfortable with the house they lived in before, but now all these new weird cabins....it wasn't all that comfortable for him anymore.Hailey smiled a bit when Nick agreed to let them go, moving and putting the phone back where it belonged.
"So rooms. I figure the kids take one and Faye and Zar take the other?" she said to Nick, wondering if that was good for him.
Ace glanced over at him once they were outside. “Why don’t you want to be inside?” He asked him curiously, looking around outside the house just to see what he noticed.Nick nodded. “Sure. That’ll work..” he agreed. “Or maybe split up the kids? Have Ace, Hunt and Vic in one and then Zar, Cass and Faye in the other?” He suggested to her quietly.

"I dunno...I just feel really tense," Hunt replied, not knowing how to explain it himself. He didn't know why either."Yeah that works too. And you and I can camp out in the living room," Hailey replied. It was probably what they would've ended up doing anyways. When they were at the previous cabin, they rarely ever went into the room they were meant to share.
Ace nodded. “We can go fly around if that’ll help? Or walk if we want more time.” He suggested, not going to push hunt to try and figure out why he was tense. It wasn’t important. Nick nodded slightly. “Okay.” He agreed, smiling a bit st her. He didn’t mind crashing in the living room since they rarely used their bedrooms anyway when they had them.

"No flying is fine. Easier to figure out what's around here anyways," Hunt replied with a smile, going to the side a bit where there was no room. He opened up his wings and took off, flying up higher till he was above the trees.Hailey nodded and went into the living room.
"Lets go get things settled in the rooms okay? Girls in one, boys in the other," she told the kids.
"Okay!" Victor said, getting up and going to look at the rooms, choosing one,"I want this one!"
Ace nodded. He waited until Hunt took off before following after him. He flew up above the trees and followed Hunt’s lead as to where to go. Nick yawned softly and led Hailey motivate them to go get settled. He sorted out some of the other stuff they’d brought.
Faye got up and grabbed her stuff to claim the other bedroom with Zar and cass.

Hunt waited for Ace until he got up, deciding on a way to go and just going in that direction.Hailey went into the room with Victor to help him set up and unpack since the other two boys weren't here. There was one large bed in this room so he figured they'd share it.
The other room had two smaller beds, the one that the girls were in. Obviously Cass would get one and Zar would try to make Faye take the other. If, you know, the other girl would listen to her.
Ace flew after Hunt, letting him lead the way as to where they were gonna end up. Nick unpacked the other supplies that they shared, taking the money from the counter and putting it in one of their bags so they would have it even if they ended up having to run again.
Faye set her stuff down in the room and glanced at Zar after Cass had chosen one of the beds. “That other one is yours.” She told her softly.

Zar looked at Faye when she told her she could have the other bed, shaking her head."No Faye, you take it," she told her.
Hailey helped out Victor in the other room, unpacking Hunt and Ace's bags and stacking their clothes up on the chest that was in front of the bed, letting Victor do the same. Wasn't like they had a lot of clothes in the first place.
Nick wasn’t sure if he was visible or not but he didn’t really care. It had no effect on him staying under water. He stayed under for as long as he could, his lungs burning and everything else starting to go too before he finally pushed himself back up to the surface, just a few seconds before Zar came up.
