“If you want.” Nick said softly. He stitched her up quickly, biting his lip. “I’m sorry. I know it hurts.” He said gently as he kept working. He finished the stitches after a couple minutes. “There..” He Mumbled, taking his hands away.

Hailey nodded, wanting to look at it for him. If it needed stitching though, well, Nick would have to do that himself or she would need to go wake up Zar. She hissed and whined as he worked on her, mumbling a few "I'm fine's" to him on occasion. Finally though, he was done. She sighed, looking down at her shirts that were all bloody now and frowned."Can you go in my bag and get me a shirt?" she asked Nick, not really wanting to stand around in her bra.
Nick bit his lip at her whines and hisses, feeling bad that he had to stitch her up since she hated it. He put a bandage over the stitches and set the extra stuff aside. “Yeah. Of course. I’ll be right back.” He said, moving and standing up. He hopped off the branch and opened his wings, heading back to the cave. He went in and got Hailey a clean shirt. He checked on the others, Ace still asleep. He made sure Hunt was doing alright before heading back to the tree.

Hunt was doing just fine, just watched the two in there sleep as he played with Ace's hair. He did tease Nick a bit before he went back in."Go get some lips tiger. Perfect chance to lay down that first kiss with Hailey," he said with a wink, not able to help himself.
Hailey waited in the tree for Nick to return, looking around as she did so. She was glad that they had managed to get them out so easily, she expected it to be a whole lot harder. When Nick came back, she took the shirt he had retrieved for her with a small 'thank you' before putting it on.
Nick rolled his eyes. “Yes because now is the right time to be sneaking kisses, not.” He answered sarcastically. “Her and I Probably is never gonna happen Hunt.” He answered before heading To the cave mouth. He flew back to Hailey and handed over the shirt before landing. “You’re welcome.” He said softly, landing on a different branch.

"Just do it!" Hunt called to him before he managed to fly away, making sure to be quiet so he didn't wake the others though.Hailey put her hair outside of her shirt and sighed, grabbing the kit and climbing over to the branch that Nick landed on.
"Let me see your leg," she said, since he told her she could look at it.
Nick sighed softly. He stretched his leg out on the branch and leaned over to pull his jeans up. He bit his lip as how they stuck slightly to his skin from the blood. He pulled it back and his ankle and lower leg was a bit of a mess, blood all over with a few extremely deep gashes all the way around. “Nothing I can’t handle.” He repeated.

Hailey waited to see what the damage was, hoping it wasn't much. But she was sourly mistaken, it was much worse than her's. Her eyes widened and her wound dropped open a bit."Nothing you can't handle, Nick I can almost see your bone!" she said, shaking her head,"I can't stitch that and you won't be able to do it well either. I'm getting Zar." She was off the branch and back into the cave before Nick was able to stop her.
He’d barely inspected the wound earlier, more focused on everyone else. So he was a little surprised at haileys reaction and how bad she said it was. Nick pulled his pant leg back down and shook his head. “It’s fine.. We are not waking Zar. She just went to sleep. I can stitch it in a few.” He said, moving and following after Hailey before she could get to the cave and wake Zar up. He grabbed their stuff first though even though he was planning on heading back out.

"I don't wanna wake her up either, I feel bad that we need to," Hailey said, stopping before she got back to the cave,"But I can't stitch that and you won't be able to do it well either since you're gonna be in pain. And Hunt's useless with anything medical. We need to get the closed before you loose too much blood or it gets infected."
Nick rolled his eyes. “I can handle the pain of stitches just fine..” he assured, not going to ask Zar to stitch him up. “And besides, I’ve got plenty of blood. All I lost was some of the extra stuff.” He told her snarkily, not wanting her worrying and upset.

Hailey looked at him when he spoke, chest rising and falling with the deep breaths she was taking. She didn't understand, she was just trying to help. She went to him when she needed help, so why wouldn't he let her try to get him help too? He didn't seem to want her doing much of anything recently...She closed her mouth tight in a straight line and flew off in the opposite direction of the cave, just wanting to be alone.
Nick sighed softly. He moved and flew after her. “Hailey, come on. Please don’t run off and hide away from us again..” he pleaded, trying to catch up with her. He wasn’t trying to act any different from normal. He just was trying to keep focused on keeping everyone together and safe rather than paying attention to his own feelings for Hailey.

"Leave me alone and go back to the cave!" Hailey yelled at him, not stopping. Her voice was a bit tight like she was trying to hold in tears, which she was. Crying in front of the others was never something she liked to do. Inside she knew that this was nothing different then how it was at home, but the stress of everything that was happening was just getting to her.
“Hailey. You know I’m not gonna do that.” He said gently. Nick flapped his wings a bit harder and got up alongside her. He’d noted the tightness in her voice and could tell she was close to breaking down. “Just stop and let me help. Please Hay..” he begged her, not wanting her to continue like this. They needed to stay near the cave and the two of them needed to be keeping watch over the others.

"No!" Hailey yelled again, stopping her flying and instead tucking in her wings so she was going down instead. She should be happy that they were all together now, she should be excited that everyone was okay. But she wasn't.
Nick frowned. He folded his wings and dove down after her. He caught up and wrapped his arms around her tightly, opening his wings to stop their fall. “Just talk to me... What’s Going on..” he told her gently, holding onto her.

Hailey didn't think that Nick would come after her, her just free falling now basically. But when arms wrapped around her she realized she was sourly mistaken. She yelped softly from the bit of tugging when he opened up his wings to stop their fall, biting her lip and putting her head down, her hair falling into her face to hide the tears that were already going down her cheeks."Let me go," she whimpered.
Nick shook his head. “Nope. I’m gonna stay with you and get this all cried out and then we’ll go from there.” He said gently as he flew down into the trees. He landed in one, Keeping her in his arms. “Just let me hold you? I know it’ll help..” he said softly, worried that she’d run as soon as he let go.

Hailey sobbed softly hearing his words, biting her lip when they landed in a tree and he didn't let her go. She didn't think he was going to let her."You shouldn't stand on your leg....you'll hurt it more," she managed to get out, her voice cracking as she wiped at her cheeks, keeping her head down so Nick couldn't see.
“I know. But I’m busy.” Nick answered. He bit his lip and let go of her after a moment, sitting down on the branch. He held his arms out in an offer to hug her again. “You can hide your face in my arms too. I’m here to be your cry buddy..” he said faintly, looking up st her.

Hailey felt his arms leave her and her first instinct was to fly away again. But she knew as soon as she opened her wings, Nick would grab her again. She glanced at him when he spoke, but did not sit down next to him. Just turned so she was facing away from him, holding back her sobs as her bottom lip quivered.
Nick frowned. He stayed sitting near her, letting her cry and not trying to do anything. The last thing he wanted to do was to make it worse. He ran a hand through his hair and looked around.

It was a few minutes, but eventually Hailey did stop crying, wiping at the tears on her cheeks and moving her hair out of her face. She still wouldn't look at Nick though, just wrapped her arms around herself as she stood there.
Nick slowly got up after a few minutes. He put his arms around Hailey again once she’d settled down a bit. “Talk to me?” He asked faintly, resting his head on her shoulder. The pain was starting to get to him but he wasn’t gonna complain. He’d just deal with it.

Hailey bit her lip, not glancing back to look at him. She was silent for a few moments like she wasn't gonna reply."I don't feel like I'm doing a good job," she finally did admit to him, looking down at the branch under them,"As a leader. I don't think I'm doing it good enough."
Nick shook his head slightly. “It may not feel like it but you’re doing plenty. You’re our leader and you keep us all safe. You make sure we have all essentials and everything. You do s ton..” he assured her softly, holding her gently.

"I let them get taken Nick. I'm suppose to protect them and I let Ace, Zar and almost Victor get taken. They got hurt, Hunt got hurt, you got hurt. How can you say I'm doing a good job?" Hailey said, shrugging her shoulders,"I can't even help you when you're hurt."
“Hailey. We can’t prevent everything. You didn’t let them get taken. We fought back as much as we could.” He said gently. “And look at it this way. You got us here and got them back. They were hurt because of them. Not because of you. They’ll heal. It’ll be okay.” He assured her.

"I didn't get them back Nick, you did. You wanted me to stay behind so they wouldn't get me either. You're sucking up your pain and not letting anyone know about it while I need help with mine and almost started crying from a needle," Hailey said with a shake of her head,"I'm good at bossing people around to clean their rooms and do chores. But out here, well, I guess I'm just not enough."
“I didn’t let you go there because I heard what they wanted to do to you. What they wanted to put you through. I couldn’t let you get captured and subject you to that. There was no way that I could. I’d stay in that facility for good if it meant you all were safe for good..” nick said quietly. “It’s my place to help take care of everyone too. That includes you. As for me, I’m fine..” he shrugged and held her. “You’re good enough out here. And we’re gonna get this sorted out. We’ll get home soon and we’ll figure out where to move from there. We’ll make this work..” he promised.

Hailey listened, finally looking over her shoulder to look at Nick. Under her eyes were a little puffy from crying and wiping her eyes so much and her cheeks were a bit red."You say that, but I just can't believe that. I just, I dunno Nick," she said, shaking her head.
“Then trust me. Because I believe it. We’re gonna get Zar and Ace healed up a bit and we’re gonna go back to the others and then we’ll find a new home somewhere. Somewhere further from here.” Nick said gently, holding her close. He kept his head resting on her shoulder.

Hailey sighed a bit, believing that the others would be okay. She just didn't know if her being their leader and, really, if her being there was a good idea."They don't need me Nick," she said almost out of the blue, looking down at the ground beneath them.
“Yes they do. We all do Hailey. We all look up to you as our leader and our guide..” nick reminded her. “You were the one who orchestrated us escaping in the first place and you’ve been our leader since then.” He shifted slightly on his feet, favoring his injured leg.

Hailey sniffled a bit as she listened to him, finally giving in and she turned around so she was facing him. She put her face in his chest right away though, blinking slowly as she relaxed there. She didn't know what was wrong with her, she didn't know why she felt like this. She just did.
Nick pulled her close and held her. He rested his head on top of hers. “You’re our leader. We all need you, no matter what happens.” He assured softly. He held her close and closed his eyes.

Hailey nodded slightly at his words, wrapping both of her arms around his waist so she was hugging him. She felt bad for running away twice already, it was so cowardly. But she just...moved and felt that it was what she needed to do.
Nick nodded. “Besides. I need you. Who else is gonna give me hugs and let me hold them?” He commented a bit teasingly, trying to get her to smile again and feel a little bit better. He kept his arms around her.

That did get a little smile out of Hailey and she looked up at him."Good to know I'm a great cuddle buddy," she replied to him, looking at him for moment longer before she needed to go back into his chest again. She could feel her cheeks were starting to heat up a little bit and didn't want him to see her blushing.
“You are the best snuggle buddy.” Nick promised. “Come back to the cave with me? I probably need to do something about my leg soon. It’s really sore..” he commented softly. He held hailey close, leaning his head on hers.

Hailey nodded at his words, slowly removing her hands from around him and taking a few steps back. She rubbed at her cheeks once more just to make sure all of the tears were gone before opening her wings, jumping up and beginning to flap, waiting for Nick though before she started back towards the cave.
Nick smiled gently at her when she finally pulled away. He let her go after a moment. He jumped out of the tree and opened his wings. He followed her back to the cave, yawning softly. He looked around, still keeping watch.

Hailey started back towards the came once Nick was in the air as well, getting there quickly and landing, folding her wings back in. All was still well, the two were still asleep and Hunt was enjoying reading a museum pamphlet for about the 50th time. He looked up when they came back, nodding in their direction before looking back down at it.
Nick landed and folded his wings. Seeing that the first aid kit had been untouched, he walked over and grabbed it before heading further back in the cave where he could sit and stitch himself up without bothering the others.

Hunt noticed when Nick took the kit and he frowned, looking at Hailey."He alright?" he questioned her.
"An Eraser got him pretty good, he just doesn't want anyone to see it," Hailey replied to him with a shrug, looking over at where he was before joining him,"I can at least help you clean it."
Nick rolled his eyes. “Says the one who’s eyes bulged out of her head when she saw it..” he teased her. “I don’t care if y’all see it. I just don’t need you passing out.” He reasoned. Ace stirred slightly. “Shut it. No erasers..” he mumbled sleepily, hugging his stuffed animal close.

"I looked at it like that because I didn't except it to be so bad, Mr. Nothing-I-Can't-Handle," Hailey replied with an eye roll of her own, getting out thing to clean it and she started doing so. Blood and gore did not bothering her, it was the stitching that did. Hunt looked down at Ace when he spoke, chuckling a bit.
"Okay okay, no Erasers," he whispered, continuing to play with his hair.
Nick rolled his eyes. “It’s not that bad.” He repeated. He shut his eyes tightly, tucking his head into his elbow so if he made a sound, it’d be muffled. He tried not to complain or move or anything at the additional pain from the cleaning solution. Ace shifted and leaned his head further into hunts touch, smiling sleepily. “Agreed.” He Mumbled.
"Can I look at it when you're done with me?" she asked, voice strained slightly from the pain.
