SOLVED. Fantasy Plot: A boy that can talk to the wind. [s]

I read this book in the mid to late 1980's. It's about a boy who can talk to the wind and I believe that he called the wind Sessory or Sessery or something like that. He also finds out that he can speak with animals. I can't remember anything else about the plot though. Really hoping that this will be enough to jog someone's memory about the title of the book. Thanks in advance to anyone who can solve this mystery for me.

Is it possible this is a version or adaptation of At the Back of the North Wind? It was originally published in 1871 and there have been several adaptations for children over the years.

Gom on Windy Mountain by Grace Chetwin. The wind "spirit" in the caves was named Sessery.
