Winter (winter9) | 5003 comments This is the discussion thread for Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng Chapter 6-10

Jennifer | 95 comments Interestinger and interestinger. The little fires are heating up. I feel like the book has flipped in these chapters to be less about Pearl and Moody, the initial focus, and more about Izzy, Mia and Mrs Robinson, and particularly the personality chasm between the two mothers. I can’t tell whose “side” I am on. Both have major flaws, yet are also relatable.

Samantha | 11 comments I just read the prank and what happened to the teacher. I was very amused at the prank honestly. It’s what caught my attention in the book otherwise personally I would think this book is very blah.

Consuelo | 190 comments I agree with all the comments. I think that the book has become more interesting in the last chapters with all the story about the abandoned child. The prank was very surprising, I never would have imagined it. Moreover, Elly is my favorite character of the book, the rest of them are pretty disappointing.

Zoë Neo | 214 comments Just finished chapter 10 and I can't stop reading, its getting more and more interesting. The May Ling/Mirabelle case is definitely a difficult one, and I feel for both sides.

I'm glad we got to learn more about Izzy in these chapters.

Megan BG (meganbgreads) | 1562 comments The author does a great job writing in support of and against both sides, so I was never able to choose the "right" side.

Kendall Gardt (kendallgardt) I’m on chapter 9 and I was right. So far I am so similar to Izzy. It’s crazy. Even down to the fact that I was born around 11 weeks early as a preemie too.

I’m absolutely loving this book.

Kendall Gardt (kendallgardt) I also want to add that I love that we’re starting to get to know Mia a little more too. I can’t wait to find out more about Pearls family.

Simon (simontaneously) | 173 comments I am loving this book! I've read Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng as well but I'm actually liking this even more.

There isn't one character I don't like either. I mean, they do some things that I don't like and I have some I prefer more than others but otherwise, they're mostly all balanced nicely.

I had this book forecasted as a 5-star read and I think it's going to hit that mark because I'm just engrossed.

SarahKat | 6282 comments The baby situation is definitely a difficult one. I feel for Bebe and for Mrs. McCullough. No matter what the outcome, a parent is losing a baby.

Mia is so mysterious. I really want to figure out what is going on with her and her past.

Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Love, love, love the prank! I wish I had thought of that when I was in school!

Samantha | 11 comments Just finished chapter 9 and I’m shocked Mia is about to tell Bebe I hope she doesn’t just because it will start an altercation with everyone n break Bebe heart when she can’t give him back

message 13: by Joan (new) - rated it 4 stars

Joan Barnett | 1007 comments I just finished chapter 10. I do like the book. I kind of want to hear more about Pearl and Mia. The Bebe story doesn't interest me all that much. I think it's a catalyst for Mrs. Richardson to find out more about Mia's background.
