Kyle | 29 comments Hi プラドニャ!

I finished Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief and I think it was amazing! I've been busy with work so I will update my goodreads and review accordingly but I think I will give it a 5/5. I admit that I didn't know much about Scientology but I did read some of Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health and had no idea what I was reading. This book was very detailed and I learned more about Hubbard and just scientology as a whole. I hated the book because I thought that the stuff I was reading was disgusting but it was so well written and detailed so I had to give it five stars. I heard there's a documentary based off this book so hopefully I can check it out.

July is almost over but I hope to go deeper onto your selves for the future and pick some more books! You have amazing shelf lists!

Ann | 38 comments Hi Cindee!

So far of the 5 books I considered reading off your READ shelf, I've read 2.
I read Daughter of the Pirate King and I loved it. You rated if 5 stars and I gave it 4.5 stars. I thought the story was so fun that I recommended it to my teenage son to read (most books do not interest him but he's enjoying it too).
I also read The Great American Whatever. You rated it 5 stars and I gave it 4 stars. I thought it was super cute.
I'm currently listening to Walk on Earth a Stranger. So far this one is slow for me which is strange because I adored her Fire & Thorns series. Hopefully it picks up for me.
Not sure if I'll get to the other 2 books from your READ shelf that I wanted to read for this challenge before the end of the month. We have a lot of books in common!

Kristina | 28 comments Tiffany,

Last weekend I finished The Gentleman's Guide to Vice & Virtue.Usually I do not enjoy books that are under the Young Adult category, but I found this book entertaining. I liked the story line and the characters were fun. Felicity was my favorite character and I hope in the next book she is able to pursue the medical field. I was surprised that I enjoyed this book and I hope you are enjoying your read.

Kristina

Ann | 38 comments Hi again Cindee!

I finished Walk on Earth a Stranger in the wee hours of the morning this morning and I DID end up liking it quite a bit. It really picked up about half way through. I think you rated it 5 stars and I gave it 4 stars.

Finished Norse Mythology... I'm sad to say that I didn't love it. It was well enough written, and entertaining in its way, but I guess I just expected it to be a little more... Gaiman. It just felt like any other God stories I've ever read, and I wanted it to be more unique, since that is usually what this author supplies... So high expectations put this barely at 3 stars for me, I'm afraid.

That was my experience with that book too, Amber. I liked the parts with Loki the best, but overall felt the experience was not magical like most Gaiman reads are for me.

I hope your next read will be a more satisfying one.

I LOVED IT :) It was so refreshing and fun, and charming. I was smiling the whole way through. I'm excited for the second book featuring Felicity.

It was fun to hop in on another copycat :) I couldn't resist!
