Christine | 798 comments I finished The Distant Hours for a book by Kate Morton. Good story but too long. That is my biggest complaint about Kate Morton, she's a bit wordy.

Christine | 798 comments I finished my Rachel book.....My Cousin Rachel
This one keeps you guessing! This Rachel was kind of creepy not like our Rachel, lol. Thanks for another great challenge. Its been fun.

Rachel | 3524 comments Thanks for the updates, Christine! :)
Glad you liked the challenge- the fall one will be posted soon. :)

I really need to read Daphne du Maurier

Christine | 798 comments I read Rebecca and I liked My Cousin Rachel better, very suspenseful, and the narrator keeps you guessing. I definitely recommend Rachel. It doesn't feel like a classic.

Danell, I hope the hospital stay went quickly, that you & your husband are well, that literature was a helpful distraction and that you're settling back into a calm and peaceful September.

I am ready for our Fall Reading Challenge.

Danell (danellbookworm) | 685 comments Grateful husbands surgery is over and now in recovery mode. The surgeon didn’t get the results he wanted and if he does have to have another surgery it will be higher up on his back. He will never be able to bend and touch his toes again and we are currently budgeting to have grabbers in every room of the house. I think he has around 35 staples, he thinks it is more like 50. We will find out when he gets them removed on Friday, grateful our Dr is doing that and we don’t have to drive 6 hrs down state. We ended up spending two extra days in the hospital due to the amount of pain he was in. Also had an interesting night when one of the nurses came in the room and told me to close the shades, we were on the 5th floor. 15 to 20 minutes later we were told we had to go in the hallway. There was a severe thunderstorm warning. One of the nurses said that the er was experiencing water on the floor. Interesting and scary at the same time.

I still am having a hard time getting into books. We were in the hospital for a week and I still couldn’t read a book. Hopefully I can end this slump soon.

Bella is a cutie Jen! Was worried about you working so much Dustin, glad you are cutting back. So grateful to each and everyone of you!!

Rachel | 3524 comments The fall reading challenge will be posted soon. It may or may not restore balance to the universe but will hopefully be a pleasant distraction either way. :)
