The Geek's Guide to Dating question

Ok, so here's a life quandry that I did not anticipate before moving in with my partner: How am I supposed to read any where near as much as I need to when the person I come home to isn't a reader?

I'm a book person, he's a gamer; we have VASTLY different tastes when it comes to our free time and I've been trying to be more interested and participatory in gaming, but he hasn't actually read a book since The Martian came out. How the hell am I supposed to explain to The Person in my life who doesn't understand what reading gives me that I need to read to live? (2 way street, by the way. I have a REALLY hard time buying his belief that he needs to game as much as I need to read.)
