GOF: Beauxbatons and Durmstrang

How did you find the portrayal of the two schools, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang?
- Were they stereotyped? Did Rowling do her research?
- How do you compare them to Hogwarts?

I don't have much knowledge on Bulgaria, but I do know a lot about France and I think it wasn't badly portrayed at all. She wrote their dialogue phonetically of how they speak which can maybe be perceived as stereotypical, but I, who knows French and French people, don't think it was.

I think they were portrayed brilliantly and all three schools are so unique that it would be amazing to attend any of them. I'm not so sure that they were stereotyped as such, however I liked the addition of the dialogue written phonetically, it makes it more 'fun' for the reader
