It does both. Like in any sport, fans can querel and fans can come together because everyone just wants their team to do the best.

Quidditch brings people together, particularly during the World Cup when people are supporting their national teams. However when it comes to other teams e.g. The Chudley Cannons there is definitely more of a rivalry between supporters
