I've just Googled it and it's come up as Rate Your Music but I'm not sure quite what it is for? It is something just for fun whilst sharing in general interests?

Blastronaut | 1061 comments Mighty lists there Sera. Will take me a while to peruse, but already have I noticed the omission of Ridley's late brother Tony from the director list. He (with Tarantino's script) did one of my all-time top films True Romance. Did some fine films, so he did,
Tho it appears like ya pretty much nailed it, I will be sure to pull you up on any more absentees as I take a closer look. : )

Yes, I know. I hope he's ashamed of himself. No sense of loyalty at all. I've heard whispers that Lez also partakes of other forums. Tut tut. You think you know someone...
Most disappointing.

Tim Franklin | 10943 comments Lockdown Movies

The Enigma Of Kaspar Hauser (Werner Herzog, 1974)
Earth vs The Flying Saucers (Fred F. Sears, 1956)
Ichi (Fumihiko Sori, 2008)
Serenity (Joss Whedon, 2005) °
Heart Of Glass (Werner Herzog, 1976)
Stroszek (Werner Herzog, 1977)
Let's Be Famous (Walter Forde, 1939) *
Saloon Bar (Walter Forde, 1940) *
His Excellency (Robert Hamer, 1952) *
The Divided Heart (Charles Crichton, 1954) *
The Lighthouse (Robert Eggers, 2019)
Roma (Federico Fellini, 1972)
Devil Girl From Mars (David MacDonald, 1954)
This Island Earth (Joseph Newman, 1955)
The Brothers And Sisters Of The Toda Family (Yasujirô Ozu, 1941)
Tokyo Story (Yasujirô Ozu, 1953)
Theorem (Pier Paolo Pasolini, 1968)
Parasite (Bong Joon Ho, 2019)
Nosferatu, The Vampyre (Werner Herzog, 1979)

° a movie made in part to 'finish' Whedon's abruptly cancelled sci-fi show 'Firefly'. Not bad but rather unsatisfying I felt.

* these all on a two DVD set, Ealing Studios Rarities Collection Volume 10, which I bought for the Divided Heart. Of the others, Let's Be Famous and His Excellency are humdrum; the first most notable as an early appearance of Betty Driver (later Betty Turpin in Coronation Street), whilst Saloon Bar (touted in some quarters as a sort of precursor to the famous Ealing Comedies) was a pleasant surprise.

what a f***ing brilliant film. must be 20 years since i saw it last, but it stays with me.

Nosferatu, The Vampyre

another class piece of cinema, and another case of separating the actor from his terrible lifestyle. always liked kinski as an actor ('fitzcarraldo' is the headline for me), superbly ugly coupon, manic style, but now you're always thinking 'beast'!

I should change it to 'Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht' as it was the German language version I watched last night (off the very fine BFI blu-ray set)

Helen The Melon | 3416 comments I have no idea what "Fine Time" is doing at No. 1. It's not a particularly good New Order song at all. In fact, it's rather forgettable.

And there is certainly no place on any "best of" list for Edie Brickell's "What I Am", ever. Urgh.

Yeh, but there is some decent stuff on that list, and some mediocre stuff, and some bad stuff - Lenny K & RHCP eh?

I eventually found my voting picks and see that a whopping 12 of them appear in the top 100. Well, top 73 actually.

Blastronaut | 1061 comments Did I/we ever do live albums? Well, this be my top 10 live albums, one album per band and INPO. Not the coolest, fashionable list for sure but these're my favourites...

No Sleep Till Hammersmith - Motorhead
All Those Wasted Years - Hanoi Rocks
It's Alive - Ramones
Unleashed In The East - Judas Priest
If You Want Blood - ACDC
Dig The New Breed - The Jam
World Wide Live - Scorpions
At Budokan - Cheap Trick
Live After Death - Iron Maiden
Unplugged - Nirvana

Other efforts from the likes of UFO, Thin Lizzy, Tesla, Kiss, Underworld, Oasis (Yeah I know, but FTM is a damn good album, I say FTM IS A DAMN GOOD ALBUM!!)) and others by The Jam and Nirvana might be in there on another day but.... that's how I sees em today... for what it's worth. No doubt there's others that I simply forgot. I'm like that, me.

Tim Franklin | 10943 comments OK, some of mine in no order except the one they popped into my head, and excluding any Blastro has name-checked.

Made In Japan - Deep Purple
Live At The Counter Eurovision '79 - Misty In Roots
Stop Making Sense - Talking Heads (in movie form, as per tech)
The Last Waltz - The Band (in movie form preferably, rather than album form)
Space Ritual - Hawkwind
Performance: Rockin' The Fillmore - Humble Pie
Black Magus - Miles Davis

Edit for some additional titles I omitted before

Live At Leeds - The Who (preferably the original without the added bloat of later reissues; the extra music is fine & dandy, but the addition somehow reduces the magic)
At Fillmore East - Allman Brothers band
Lotus - Santana
