You're missing a couple of important ones IMO
Heart "Bad Animals"
Twisted Sister "You Can't Stop Rock 'N' Roll
Kiss "Crazy Nights"
Europe "Out Of This World"
L.A. Guns "Cocked & Loaded" etc etc
If there was to be a list of most drool-worthy hair metal blokes, Joey Tempest takes top position.❤️❤️❤️

Yep, and I thought of a few more that should get a mention. Alice Cooper's Trash is maybe better than a couple on my list, and ditto Queensryche - Operation Mindcrime (if ya wanna class Queensryche as 'hair metal'). How'd I forget those two? I'm sure there's plenty more that's just slipped me mind. Enuff Z Nuff's debut, I suppose should get a mention too, tho I wun't put it into a Top Ten.
Remember Warrant, Collette? Dirty Filthy Stinkin Rich isn't a bad album if one doesn't mind a scattering of schmaltz here n there. Talking of schmaltz, let's not forget Bon Jovi! Sod it, I don't mind admitting it (if I have just a fraction of forum cred left, it's gonna be dashed right now) - I have a couple of Bon Jovi albums knocking about; Slippery When Wet and New Jersey. This is the bit where I make a lame attempt to redeem meself and say "Ah but that was a long time ago and my musical tastes have changed drastically" - but nope; while my taste in music as widened somewhat since then, BJ's earlier stuff is still ok with me, especially those albums.

Let's get so uncool that... err... that we thaw the snow! (?)
As usual, one per band and inpo…
Tragedy - Hanoi Rocks
It's So Easy - Guns N Roses
Mayfair - Quireboys
Kiss Me Deadly - Lita Ford

I Hate Myself For Loving You - Joan Jett
Get The Funk Out - Extreme
Ok, a Top Twenty...
Love Removal Machine - The Cult
Prime Mover - Zodiac Mindwarp
New Thing - Nuff Z Nuff
Lay It Down - Ratt
Sleeping My Day Away - D.A.D
Don't Go Away Mad - Motley Crue
Ballad Of Jayne - LA Guns
Babylon - Faster Pussycat
Beat The Bullet - Vain
How Come It Never Rains - Dogs D'Amour
For some reason I've left Aerosmith out... which don't make much sense because if GnR and The Cult qualify for 'Hair Metal' then surely 'smith do? Tbh I can't be bothered to fuss over it; it is what it is.
Pretty sure Sera would have an opinion on 'Best 80s Hair Metal' etc but maybe he doesn't wanna play. I know he listens to (or used to listen to) stuff of the above ilk. Maybe he just don't like lists? Or perhaps his mum's told him that if she finds out he's been playing with that naughty Collette and that odd Blast-thing, he's in for a good hiding!? : )

don't worry tho', if i look up and screw my eyes really tight, i can just about see the soles of your shoes!

Almost 'blew' me away!! Ok alright, that was poor. Will get me coat. : )

I wasn't there, you got no proof copper! i ain't going down fer this ..;p. sssnot my hairspray i'm just holdin it fer a friend. .spdjf jfd s#'0#w jf

Additional, as they come to me:
Twisted Sister

I did see Heavy Pettin' once, when they were support for Ozzy Osbourne I think. The most memorable thing was when the singer skated naked onto the stage after their slot had ended.

I like 'Trash". One of my favourite songs from it is "I'm Your Gun". I remember first hearing said song on one of those plastic Flexi-disc record thingies. Think I got it free with RAW magazine (much better than Kerrang it was IMO). Truth be told the majority of my cd purchases these days are the ones I missed out on back in the day, or the remaining albums from a lot of the groups I loved back then. My latest 2 purchases (both this week) are Europe albums, and my next one's probably gonna be Kiss "Hot In The Shade". Had it on vinyl years back and never replaced it, so... Pfft to today's music, I'm staying in the 80's. 😚

I bought the first Blow Jobbie LP but lost interest pretty quickly.
My mate, a reknowned gig flounce-outer, had tickets for a Milton Keynes Bowl all-dayer with BJ headlining. He had brought with him a 2 litre bottle of some or other branded carbonated sugar water but was told he had to leave it outside since only their chosen brand of tooth-rot was on sale inside. The bottle probably cost him all of a quid but the 'principle' meant he turned on his heels and went home never having entered the show!

i can safely say none of the above have ever troubled my ears or eyes, lest for research or accident!

So here's my Top 10
Guns n Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Bang Tango - Psycho Cafe
Uncle Sam - Letters From London
Hanoi Rocks - Back To Mystery City
Faster Pussycat - Faster Pussycat
Rock City Angels - Young Mans Blues
D.A.D. - No Fuel Left For The Pilgrims
Motley Crue - Shout At The Devil
Poison - Look What The Cat Dragged In
Tigertailz - Bezerk
Skid Row - Skid Row

All the best things go up to 11!

All the best things go up to 11!"
On one of my frequent appearances at the local hospital, the (very young) doctor asked me to rate my pain 1 to 10. I couldn't resist saying "It goes up to 11" not expecting a reaction. I was delighted when he laughed and said "Like what you did there"

Oh crikey, help! Just remembered I also used to have Skid Row's first album. But then I used to have this too - Why oh why did I have this? & why is it's rating so high on Amazon?
Perhaps we should do lists of most embarrassing albums we've ever owned? 😀

Perhaps we should do lists of most embarrassing albums we've ever owned?."
Well thanks for that... Now i have to completely defrag and wipe my PC, take it outside and lump-hammer it to its smallest components, set it on fire, package up the remnants and send it as far away as possible to be dropped down into the darkest, deepest unmapped depths... and i still won't feel clean!
:P

1 - 'trick of the tail' - genesis (i was ill and bored and dead that day)
2 - 'rock of the westies' elkon john (dumb title, it was around the time he discovered he could put any old bollocks on a record and still sell it)
3 - 'rock on' - david essex (utter pish for teen girls to wet themselves to - except for the killer 'rock on' and 'lamplight' singles)
4 - 7" - 'sun arise' - r*lf h*rr*s (whit?)
5 - 7" - 'hey rock 'n' roll' - showaddywaddy (nah, it's great)
6 - i'm also quite happy to own 'journeys to glory' by spandau ballet.
7 - anything by morrissey i suppose, but they're still good records.
8 - that's about it, i theeenk.
9 - you may think otherwise.
10 - it's just that i have no prog/rock/metal (hair or otherwise) records - that would be embarrassing!!!!!

1 - 'hellbent for leather' - frankie laine (killer comp of all his cowboy classics. ask val)
2 - 'nancy and lee' - nancy sinatra and lee hazelwood (superb combination of voices - 'some velvet morning'? sublime.)
3 - 'gold' - abba (those voices, those voices! is there a more hit-laden comp in existence?)
4 - 'spaced out - the best of leonard nimoy and william shatner (shite, but hysterical)
5 - 'setting the woods on fire' 3xcd comp - hank williams (just brilliant)
6 - 'play bach' vols 1,2 &3 - jacques loussier (cool beard, cool interpretations)
7 - 'the essential' - bob dylan (some kinda folk singer, no bad)
8 - 'the essential' - miles davis (trumpety)
9 - 'journeys to glory' - spandau ballet (quality pop, 2nd album was even better and funkierer)
10 - 'criminally insane (remix) 7" - slayer (came with a free def jam patch, which i still have. why wouldn't you?)

How could I forget Cherry Bombz? Terrible omission! Also Smashed Gladys! If I remember correctly, first time I heard 17 Going On Crazy was when it popped up on a cheap compilation - Metal Killers or some such. Quite liked it from the get-go. Must've been a year or two later and they'd added a few bells and whistles and rereleased it, along with an album. Not a bad album either.
I left Love/Hate off the list cos that was ever so slightly post 80s. Afterwards - while wondering whatever happened to the Welsh glammers - I was looking at the Tigertailz wiki and saw that Bezerk was 1990 too! Coulda swore that was 88 or 89!! Not that it matters, I mean both albums were part of the same scene.
Hmm, yes... me too Sera. I absolutely did not see Tigertailz at Notts Rock City when they were touring Bezerk. Neither did I think they were quite a lively act and enjoyed the show... that I didn't attend.
Wow, considering that was as late as 1990, it took maybe less than a year for me to go from rock/metal gigs to clubs and... 'Raves' (not keen on the 'R' word; it sounds a tad cheesy nowadays and was a term very much of its time I reckon). Now that could suggest a certain shallowness to my character or a bit of depth. Answers on a postcard to the usual address.

I totally agree Collette. I've upgraded many of my vinyl or cassettes to CD over the years and still play em now. Of course there's always room for new music but nobody's telling me I can't listen to older stuff, from 70s and 80s rock/metal to 90s and 00s house and techno. Fugitives From Time eh?

Find it out Helen. Play it!! Ya know ya wanna!!!

Did you not think You Give Love A Bad Name a decent record at the time, Brass? Reckon I heard it for the first time on The Friday Rock Show (shit, now THAT'S going back a bit) and Tommy Vance was raving about it. Thought it was quite a refreshing tune when it first hit. Obviously it was massively overplayed after that, which was for me at least, the death of it.

That's me done by TKO!

Nothing wrong with a bit of Nancy & Lee or Spandau Ballet - love To Cut A Long Story Short, it's Gold! ;-)

Sorry Blastro, got rid of it years ago, thankfully.

Along with the above Bon Jovi, Skid Row & V Ice albums I also used to have:-
Phil Collins - ...But Seriously (yes, seriously, nope, no idea why I had this, I was only 12)
Kylie - Kylie (I was only 10/11)
Take That - Greatest Hits ('96)
And still have:-
The Best Rock Album In The World Ever (Vol.1)
Pure Moods (compilation)
Keane - Hopes & Fears
Kaiser Chiefs - Employment
Def not as bad as Sera's collection :-)
I am also the proud owner of:-
All INXS albums up to & including "Full Moon, Dirty Hearts" (although that one's not v good)
All U2 albums up to & including "Pop" (although that one's shite)
First two A-ha albums - "Scoundrel Days" is top quality & would appear on my fave albums of all time list.
The Peace of Gregorian Chant - lovely
Transvision Vamp - Velveteen - great pop

A-Ha - Hunting High And Low
All Keane's output
U2 - Joshua Tree
Deacon Blue - Our Town - Greatest Hits
Deacon Blue - Raintown
Went to see Deacon Blue, great live except for a somewhat redundant strange woman.

ps to Blastro... The only Warrant album I own (so far) is a 'best of', my fave songs are "Sometimes She Cries", "Cherry Pie" and "Heaven", and the whole Jani Lane thing makes me feel kinda sad.

Ride The Lightning (or MOP) - Metallica
Ace Of Spades - Motorhead
Mechanix - UFO
Permanent Vacation - Aerosmith
Love At First Sting - Scorpions
Mechanical Resonance (or TGRC) - Tesla
Back In Black - AC/DC
Powerslave (or NOTB) - Iron Maiden
High n Dry (or Hysteria) - Def Leppard
Blizzard Of Ozz- Ozzy Osbourne
Have left out a couple of my all-time favourite albums - Crazyhead's Desert Orchid and Faith No More's The Real Thing - as I reckon they're as much alt rock as they are metal but... that's just me.
Am sure there's many I've forgot too.

Daydream Believer - Monkeys
Sweet Child Of Mine - Guns n Roses
Ruby Tuesday - Rolling Stones
Karma Police - Radiohead
Town Called Malice - The Jam
She Loves You - The Beatles
The Rock Show - Blink 182
Smooth Criminal - Alien Ant Farm
Buddy Holly - Weezer
A Design For Life - Manic Street Preachers
Obviously one can see my influence in places but those picks came straight from the pen of BlastroMite and I had no say, I shit thees not! Not a bad list bless him.

Bless him, not a bad list for a 9yr old at all. Not into his electro stuff yet then, Blastro! S'posed he is a bit young to appreciate some relentless techno! ;-)
Anyway, I also remembered that I had an embarrassing Jesus Jones album at one point.

Funnily enough, his older siblings aren't big fans of such music either, tho our eldest isn't against it - I mean, how can he be, he's down Sheff every weekend! Not sure if he goes to any of 'those' kinda clubs but if he does, he's doing it drunk... says a man in denial! : ) Nah, I see him in a morning sometimes when he roles in and his eyes are not all-pupil, if ya know what I mean.
Bugger, I do get side-tracked don't I? Yep, none of the kids have succumbed to my electro approach. Guess my mixing really does stink! : )
EDIT - just deleting the 'If I can't tell when...' part as I feel that's asking for trouble. Jinxing things maybe? Yeah I know, I'm a mental.

Getting on cross-trainer time. I shall try to compile a mental list of guilty pleasures (or just plain guilty) while I attempt to sweat a pound-or-two.

Blastro, I also had a David Gray and when I tried to dump it at the charity shop, they refused as they were snowed under with them! Probably tops Blunty.

the bluntybaws v dave gray tussle would be settled on the fact that i detest c....blunty when he just speaks, never mind sings. i think the self deprecation reaches a point where the public must think - 'if he spends all his time taking the pish out of himself, why are we shelling out for music that comes pre-dissed!' (but they don't)
dave gray is just other words for bland shight, but i don't know what his talking voice is like, so he would win (a hollow victory)
....and Tech. : )
Top ten 80s hair metal albums INPO and one album per band, else it'd be mostly Hanoi Rocks' stuff....

That's kind of you, Blastro. Funnily enough I'm listening to In The Dynamite Jet Saloon MMX as I type this. And pretty cool it is too!
