I thought the start of the book was fairly slow, and was worried I would not get into it at all. Part 2 really grabbed my interest. I love Elisa's relationship with the creature. I like seeing into Strickland's life a little bit, even though he is an awful human being. Hofstetler and Giles are great characters as well.
